Thought I'd put in my vote for this as I have the 737 panel from WinWing and being able to use it with SpadNext so I can use not only on 737, but the CJ4 and C90 adds so much to it that not being able to use it is a big drag. Heck, I'd even pay for the addon. :)

@Bigmarty said in GNS 530 Does not turn on in Caravan:

Good morning. I had no AP in the Black Square 208. As shown somewhere in the forum I changed the wording in the Working-title file and the AP now seems to work.

But I no longer have the GNS 530 (blank screen). Have installs from Marketplace and Content Manager, have un-installed and reinstalled the 208 more than once, have tried with nothing in the Community folder except the black square 208.

    It works in other aircraft.

Need the GNS 530 - any suggestions would be great TIA.

Do you have a backup copy of the original files you changed? The changes that were discussed here (at least the AP and mode selection ones I'm aware of) haven't been needed for a while; the latest copy of the Caravan installer has the correct files. If something was mistyped along the way it might have broken the 530 on board.

Very good, thank you for your quick answer. I was just wondering if I had missed an update :)

In v0.1.3 of the Vulcan, we upgraded the GPS from the Aera GPS to the G3X Touch for better MSFS 2024 compatibility. Therefore, the functionality of the GPS has changed slightly as the G3X Touch is a more advanced GPS. To cover each of your points:

If a flight plan is created in the MSFS 2024 EFB, the "Send Route To Avionics" button must be pressed in order to import the route into the GPS. If a flight plan is created manually within the GPS, the flight plan must have a departure airport and a destination airport set in order for the autopilot to couple with the GPS (if a flight plan is created in the GPS with only a departure airport and waypoints, the route will be displayed, but the autopilot coupling will not function with an incomplete flight plan). In order for the autopilot to track the GPS flight plan, the ENGAGE knob must be pulled (with IN indicator showing white), the TRACK knob must be pulled, and REMOTE must be selected on the navigational selector.

This is a known side effect of a workaround we have put in place to improve touchscreen display interactions in our aircraft in MSFS 2024. If the workaround is no longer required after future MSFS 2024 Sim Updates, we will update the logic so that control cannot be clicked through touchscreen displays. The GPS can also be moved on top of the glareshield by clicking the upper bezel.

As the G3X Touch is a default GPS unit in MSFS 2024 (developed by Working Title), we sadly don't have any control over the scaling of the GPS. To circumvent this, we have added custom cameras for each GPS position which moves the camera closer to the GPS display. These cameras can be toggled either via the MSFS Camera menu, or via a clickspot on the right bezel of the GPS.

Hi both. I'm not sure if I can help directly (I don't use hardware, I just use my own C# program) but I am able to set up the altitude preselect panel using my own code. To change the selected altitude I use the AP_ALT_SEL_INC and AP_ALT_SEL_DEC LVARs. By writing a value of 1 to the desired LVAR will change the selected altitude readout by +/- 100ft. I do this in a loop whilst also checking the set altitude (by reading the values of AP_ALT_SEL_NUMBERS_10000 , AP_ALT_SEL_NUMBERS_1000 and AP_ALT_SEL_NUMBERS_100) until the selected altitude readout matches my desired altitude.

Not really a problem, but I do wonder who needs temperatures with precision down to 0.01 degrees to do their performance calculations :-D
I suggest the pilot remembers to visits the airport toilet before departure if 0.01 deg makes the difference.

I want to say that I just got FS Traffic today and I had the same problem as my system is set in Swedish. Thanks to the advice above I managed to get it working by only changing the decimal symbol!

Thanks for reporting this. I've logged this on our internal bug tracker and we'll get this investigated ahead of the next update to the Hawk.

There was an old bug, opinions differed on whether or not it was in the WT GNS unit or the JustFlight planes, where engaging the AP seemed to turn on some sort of alt or pitch hold mode by default. The solution was to toggle the Alt Hold clickspot twice, which then released vertical control of the aircraft.

I've not extensively tried the plane since it was recently updated; could that be what you're experiencing?

    @Mark

    Hi,
I find the exterior lighting too dim compared to other aircraft. You can't see anything during the day, and it's too dark at night. Otherwise, great aircraft. But I wish the lighting was brighter. Other aircraft are fine, too.
