FS Traffic

I have the same issue: If I load into a flight there is 9/10 times no traffic. Workaround: ESC and press „Restart“. Then traffic will appear as soon as you enter the aircraft. Weird…

I suspect this will have been intentional, as we don't have an Emirates A350 livery, so the VMR file is pointing to the closest match, which is the 77W. I'll raise this with our development team as something to check ahead of the next update. Mark - Just Flight

There were some lighting changes in the core simulator post-Sim Update 4, and our development team will be investigating what, if any, changes are required to the FS Traffic aircraft ahead of the next update to the product. Mark - Just Flight

There have been various improvements to this over the course of FS Traffic's updates; however, it's sadly not something that can be removed entirely without affecting the traffic generation at the destination airport. The small freeze is caused when the FS Traffic module detects that the player is within a certain radius of the destination airport, and starts to read the schedule files that are stored locally on your PC. Once it reads those schedule files, it'll start to generate the relevant traffic. The more schedules that exist at the destination airport, the longer it'll take for the FS Traffic module to read those; therefore, the size of the freeze is directly related to how busy the destination airport is. For example, if you approach a small to medium-sized airport like Manchester (EGCC), you may only notice a small stutter, but if you approach Chicago O'Hare (KORD) at rush hour, you will get a larger stutter. FS Traffic traffic is spawning OK with GSX Pro uninstalled in Sim Update 4 Beta (1.6.23.0) for me as well as GSX Pro reinstalled with characters quantity set correctly.

We're not aware of any missing sounds in FS Traffic, however, the simulator can begin to automatically cull AI aircraft sounds as a performance-saving measure in performance-heavy scenarios. Just so we can be sure that this is the case, could I kindly ask you to raise a support ticket via the following link: https://www.justflight.com/support In the ticket, if you could provide details on the aircraft you observed having no sounds (if there was a particular model), and the airport you were at (and if you were using a third-party version of that airport). Our support team will then be able to attempt to replicate that and take any necessary steps from there. Mark - Just Flight

Instructions for how to add aircraft/livery into FS Traffic are listed from page 30 onwards in the FS Traffic manual: https://downloads.justflight.com/products/JFF003616/FSTraffic_MSFS_manual.pdf However, we would strongly advise against using high-fidelity player aircraft as AI Traffic. The models used for player aircraft are not designed to be used as AI aircraft, and they will negatively impact performance. Mark - Just Flight

So far, no good. Getting back to your issue, if you contact Just Flight support with details of the problem they will certainly try and resolve it for you.

@Mark Yes, that's right. I suggested modifying the “Aircraft Traffic Quantity” option to ASOBO several times, but they didn't listen. I said the “Aircraft Traffic Quantity” option should separate generated aircraft and multiplayer. To use traffic add-ons, it's best to turn “Aircraft Traffic Quantity” off. However, to see multiplayer traffic, it's best to set “Aircraft Traffic Quantity” as high as possible. So I'm hoping they'll separate this for generated aircraft and multiplayer, but it seems unlikely. I asked if there might be another way. Thank you.

The Summer 2022 and Winter 22/23 databases are each taken from a specific week in those time periods. I don't recall the exact week off the top of my head, but I think it's somewhere around May 2022 and January 2023. We would like to add new databases in a future update, but we have nothing to announce at the moment. Mark - Just Flight
