@plumps said in A/T and Autopilot not engaging:

If you wait ages (>10 minutes) [...] all the AP/TPR/YD systems start to work again.

well, indeed. I let it sit today reeeeally long and voilá, A/T showing green lights and good to go. will double check soon. no idea though what's going on in the backgroud when one flight A/T starts readily engaged and one time not. with very same Rj85 Lufthansa livery (official) and at the very same airport.
BTW, clicking the fly now button as soon as it turns yellow/can be clicked did NOT do the trick, still A/T lights was grey and could not be enabled

@Cristi I agree, that is a very handy clickspot.
It would be great to have something similar in the Duke and TBM.

We will be turning our attention to our PA28 and PA38 fleets in the near future and beginning the process of bringing them across to MSFS 2024. We'll be sure to share updates as the process progresses.

The current status of the MSFS 2024 compatibility updates for our products can be found here: https://www.justflight.com/articles/just-flight-addons-msfs-2024-compatibility-status

This isn't something we were aware of, however, we suspect we may know the reason behind this (relating to how LODs are handled within MSFS 2024). We'll log this on our internal bugs tracker as something to investigate ahead of the next Vulcan update. Thanks for reporting this!

EFB Moving Map is completely black for me. The map appears briefly but disappears again. Is this the same for you?

Try using a touch of into wind aileron, but not too much as the roll spoiler will lift on the same wing.

On the aircraft we would use nose wheel steering and in the early stages full aileron into wind. As speed increased the rudder would be fed in as speed increased and it replaced the use of nose wheel steering to keep straight, the aileron input also reduced as speed increased to just enough to keep the aircraft straight and wings level.

The take-off. crosswind limit for the 146-100 is 33 kts,-200 is 30 kts and the -300 is 35 kts.

The aircraft was subject to limitations on the setting of take-off power when the wind speed was greater than 25 kts and more than 55*off the r/w heading… but I suspect you won’t want to know that?

This is great to hear that FS Traffic is merging on over to 2024. I bought kind of late into the game (considering I have a bunch of other free and paid traffic mods) but this had the best for me.
    Need beta testers?

    Hi,

I notice that the RAT briefly deploys on shutdown. Does/Did the real aircraft do this, or is it a sim limitation?

    Thank you

Unfortunately, it's possible to access the aircraft.cfgs in product purchased from the in-game marketplace version.

It may be worth trying the AIRPORT VEHICLE DENSITY setting if you haven't already, but I suspect the settings in the aircraft.cfg may overrule that setting for the player aircraft.

Yeah, the CV880/990 would be really cool indeed!
The problem I see is the aircraft sounds because there are no aircraft available for recording sounds and very few videos of the engine sounds, all of which do not cover the full range of operation.

@ADFGVX Probably easier to expand the Analog fleet, since the aerodynamics are already mostly worked out, than to create a new one whole cloth. I'm looking forward to anything BlackSquare releases, whatever it is. And probably official 2024 compatibility updates for the Duke and TBM worked in there somewhere. He's a pretty busy one-man development team.

@windplr The developer requested we remove it from sale whilst they ascertained what was needed work-wise to get it working correctly in FS2024. We're awaiting feedback on that, from the dev.

The Navdata in MSFS 2024 isn't something we have investigated just yet. However, the initial compatibility updates for the 146/RJ will focus on making the 2020 versions of the products compatible with 2024, so the initial 2024 versions will retain the Navigraph requirement for updating the Navdata. Once the products are compatible with 2024, we will then investigate what 2024-specific features can be added in future updates, such as the new flight planning/Navdata features.

The GNLU in the RJ is more akin to an FMS that is found in a 737 rather than an A320, but we have simulated it to a similar depth as our UNS-1 in the 146. The GNLU is, however, a much more modern and complex unit, with more advanced features than the UNS-1 so there should be plenty to keep you busy. Like our UNS-1, we have simulated as much as possible to be functional using the real-world FMS manuals, including the ability to create holding patterns and runway extension waypoints, view Top of Climb and Top of Descent points, and monitor other navigation and performance data.

There has been a significant rewrite of the autopilot code in the RJ as that was required to allow us to properly simulate how the various aircraft systems all integrated with each other (Flight Guidance System, AutoThrottle, FADEC, Thrust Rating Panel, etc), so there have been improvements to the autopilot across the board. The RJ is also capable of CAT3 autolands in the real world and in the sim, which these autopilot improvements have been crucial for.

With regards to a release date we have nothing to announce at the moment, but do keep an eye on our social media channels as we'll be sharing more information on the RJ Professional soon.

@qwz020 We hope so yes, we've not had sight or use of the SDK as yet so we're unable to guarantee 100% that will be the case, but we're hoping that's the case.

@sk0941 +FMS/Garmin-y retrofits. But true classics will keep flying one way or another, and in MSFS, its quite easier if one wants to go old school. Already can fly US like it's 1958 with all the original VORs, NDBs, etc from that era. You can also go all celnav (celestial navigation) and fly your DC-6 or Connie that way, which is how they did it before gyroscope INS systems became a thing.

    https://flightsim.to/file/17738/celnav-for-msfs-celestial-navigation-sextant

The Wing42 B247 included old AN type radio beacons globally for navigation (where they existed at the time, which was limited coverage). The mods and community stuff will expand with time.
