I just can't understand why put some much effort to model the piston engine quirks and then just pretend that engine oil is something that you just ignore.

I spent a couple hours today comparing different liveries and different angles and I have to concur with the OP. Curious if anyone else agrees with us?

@NCGator424 Unfortunately, this is not something that I have heard of happening in any of my aircraft over the years. I'm also not aware that sounds can ever cause a CTD by themselves. In the 114, in particular, there are no fancy avionics which trigger routines when the wheels hit the ground either. I suspect this is just something at the simulator level, as many users reported stuttering on touchdown with MSFS 2024 since release (it still happens to me occasionally too). Sorry that's not a very satisfying answer, but unfortunately, I really don't think it has anything to do with my aircraft. Might I suggest sending a message to Just Flight Support? They have a knowledge base that spans many aircraft, not just mine, and all sorts of hardware and 3rd party applications. Perhaps it's something they've seen before.

I know PMDG recommend low, I think most developers might. I'll let Nick chime in himself though As I mentioned, depending on your tolerance for third party apps I've heard only good things and am personally enjoying RealTurb, though it does need some user tweaking.

MSFS Zendesk does have a way to delete your cloud save but use it with extreme caution as it can def improve things but it will also wipe a lot of things including your control profiles. You need to export them all somewhere safe first. Also, things like P42 Flow is stored in it and possibly some P42 Chaseplane amongst others. I have felt the pain of this lol

@Black-Square Yes, that's the case, thanks. Now just need to figure out how to set the LVar up correctly. Oh, and overall, I love the quirks of this airplane. The Bo is faster but this one is more fun.

As Nick said, there is no STC to fit a G1000 in any version of the Commander. So it would be very unrealistic. There are very, very few STCs to fit the G1000 as an aftermarket option, as Garmin don't intend it for that use. There are some for the Beech King Airs and analogue Caravans and that's about it.

Third alternative could be that the micro-switch on the gear leg is faulty with the bulb still working?

I appreciated the option to remove it in the Starship but I don't find it immersion killing to have. I have actually appreciated it a couple of times when I've forgotten to check temps on the little screen or the EFB

Its an MSFS thing, so far as I understand - the sim interprets an open window or door as a crash (I suppose its thinking pressurized fuselage?) which is why Black Square recommends that "Disable Aircraft Stress Damage" should be enabled.

Keep in mind that it also takes a while for the effect to dissipate, so short flights or staying in the pattern may not be enough to eliminate all fouling. This means that it may slowly get worse even though you are "flying" the airplane. Also, 30% is about the limit for normal operation, 50% is unflyable, and 60% is backfiring and severe degradation. Ten percent should be noticeable during the magneto tests, and audibly different (in the 114, and after the next update to all my reciprocating engine aircraft).

Thank you all for the constructive discussion. Yes, it’s the non-turbo C114 And I’m still at 100 per cent. Although, unfortunately, my flying isn’t always exactly exemplary. That’s why I was wondering if everything was working properly on my end. But I’m not going to complain! One thing’s for sure: I get 100 per cent enjoyment out of flying Blacksquare aircraft. Thanks to them.

@SkipperMacz bugged drag calculations will be more noticeable with higher performance aircraft, tho you may get slightly better than the book performance in the 114. I'm curious to know if it is effecting all aircraft (unfortunately I believe it would be). Not sure how something that big can get messed up in a sim update, very strange...
