I was going to mention that there is a really good Android app called Avare that will display a moving map on your phone or tablet as you are running Flight Simulator. One can overlay VFR Sectionals, Low IFR-High IFR routes, etc., (at least for flights in the USA) and your aircraft in Flight Simulator will be shown at it's correct simulation coordinates on the moving map. When you build a flight plan with Avare, the app will automatically draw extended runway centerlines at both your departure airport and arrival airport. Avare is excellent for situational awareness and runway orientation. The app pairs really well with the Starship's older avionics for situational awareness and I use it on every flight now. Google Play Link here Avare is completely free of charge and does not have any in-app adverts whatsoever (which makes it so cool).

I had one flight where the starship suddenly without warning pitched up or down extremely quickly, breaking the aircraft from stress damage. Happened with or without AP engaged. There were weird wind changes and turbulence reported in the area so I chalked it up to that and have since turned down turbulence from realistic to medium.

Nick is quite informed on all things Starship (go figure), so I will always regard him as a trusted source. The airspeed indicator on the Starship has a TAS digital readout at all times for the reasons above no doubt, which I probably should've remembered here. Great fun learning about this stuff though!

@DrVenkman I can confirm that the workaround seems completely effective for me personally in regard to the Starship and the newest FS2024 Beta release. Buttons light up and exterior lights work fine with the mouse in Legacy mode. I kinda hate the blue glowy effect when hovering over mouseable buttons also, so I'll likely just leave things in Legacy mode.

@Black-Square Just one nerd-Beech fact - the actuator actually has two separate motors and associated gearing internally - main & standby. It's not just a power source. So if one motor conks out - have the redundancy of the other! @CapVideo Simple rule of thumb is ice-vanes/inertial-seperators extended for all ground ops except Take-Off and Landing (unless on gravel - which I don't think any respecting Starship owner would risk it!) The location of the Starship intakes far aft and above the wing make their use kind of moot on the ground - it'd be very tough for any fod to get up there. As Nick mentioned the prevalence of FOD is planned to be reduced in a future update. Patrick

A quick note that today's flight brought back the original issue with all pauses. Now that I know it's probably going to happen I'm ready to do a reset as soon as I reenter the cockpit - just something that I deal with.

simbrief import is the 'defacto standard' and should be able to get the API from navigraph to integrate into the starship. you should also be able to get the navigraph charts API to integrate into the tablet as other addon makers do.

Filling in trip planning doesn't seem to affect what is displayed on the fuel mgmt page, still is like 800lbs off of my actual landing weight.

Your adventure was so great I had to try by myself, turning off one of the engines. What I found out is that the single generator that remains works too hard to power the plane. And turning off systems to keep the load below 100% is not enough, at least until you get to lower altitudes. That's when the generator heat seems to become the major factor. Look at the tablet and see how pink it is just before it shuts down. By this time, all we have to land is half a six-pack. If I face this challenge again, the first things I'll do is turn off radar, all the heaters and the copilot avionics, as well as all the lights.

Thanks for the quick response. Actually, I've found the problem just before you posted: I had to configure SPAD to scan MSFS on every flight start (it is off by default). Doing so, the entire encyclopaedia of variables you provided were finally visible.

The missing interior icing effects have already been addressed for the next update. This may have also added more scratch effects to the interior too, but I neglected to look that closely. I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Starship is definitely the most incredible airplane I have ever learned about and had the pleasure of flying virtually. Let me know if you have any other questions!

That's correct. I've posted this somewhere else. But if you have a bit of patience, you can get it to work on all your flights.

The worst Ive done so far is cooked an engine to 40% on startup when it was an exceedingly hot day, I think 40C. Rose to 1200 degrees momentarily on startup. Still performed fine after that. My other engine is at 96% which I think I caused by running it at like 850ITT for a few minutes in flight, but im not sure.

@Magenta-Line said in 2024 QOL feature - Click to Enter: @MD82 said in 2024 QOL feature - Click to Enter: I've seen a popular stream walk up to the main entry, and he enters the plane. I think I watched the same video. I ended up concluding that was just video editing, since in the next moment he's inside the plane (able to interact with internal click spots) but next to the door, not in the pilot seat. Ok, I thought I was going crazy

I was looking for something generic, like exterior lights, but you're right that there's a limit and we're either at or near it
