Fun stuff! At least I hope it was for you. With how rare failures are when operating at the 1x multiplier, I always enjoy a minor failure when they occur. I wonder if you could have caught that failure with a proper runup. Of course, you can always disable failures completely, if this is not to your liking.
I'm not aware of any guidance on which systems to take offline when the checklist calls for "reduced load"; however, if you got really flustered, you could manually open the generator ties. This would ensure that the remaining generator stays within limits by dropping all the loads on the inoperative generator's bus.
The autopilot remained engaged for not quite the reason you would expect, but I have fixed that now. Thank you!
