Just a wild idea, but I know you like wild ideas.. maybe it would be possible to define an export folder for Simbrief flightplans. To load the flightplan you would have to insert the "flightplan floppy" and load it from there. That would make interaction with the floppy drive more frequent.. (unless I missed that this feature is already there lol).

          maybe a somewhat weird proposal:
when loading the starship, the aircraft could silently check wit hsimbrief if there is a route active for the starship.
In case yes, a floppy disc (labeled flight plans :()) could lay around, for example on one of the pilots seats, or center pedestal, or.. or... 🙂
You'd then insert it with the already available "read floppy" flow..
          WDYT?

Can the real plane import flight plans via floppy?

Now this is a cool idea. I would welcome this change. I have several planes/apps that just detect your latest simbrief flightplan when requested. I think it would be cool for it to pick up the last couple of plans you made and put them into the route select. I would assume, maybe incorrectly, that the real plane would have a similar function surely? Maybe not - if it didn't I wouldn't mind this being a toggle option for those who want to stay pure - I would highly welcome it!

in another discussion it was mentioned the "FMC" is currently unstable when it comes to reading FPLNs, especially the approaches and SID/STARS simbrief is exporting cause issues.

Maybe there is a way to parst to only take the "core" rout without those additions to "stay basic".

Also, since starship does not know airways, it would have to import each waypoint ... sounds kind of doable to me 🙂

@x4569 This is exactly the approach I would take. Unfortunately, that will have to wait a little bit after I solve more pressing issues. If I do solve it, it will definitely be through the floppy disk. You have my word on that! In the meantime, I'm sorry that it's not working. I genuinely had no idea that throngs of my users would be trying to do something that is not supported in my aircraft, and I actually had no idea that it would even half-work, since I did nothing to support it!
