Every aircraft has its own file where it was installed to, so it will only effect that one. Make a copy first though. But have you thought to just make a seperate controller curve in the msfs native controllers GUI for that aircraft? There are plenty of YouTube videos that can take you through that process, it's easy and you would have far more control over the outcome. I have several aircraft with custom curves for rudder or elevators, especially some choppers and their pesky torque pedals. Here is one for eg, right at the end he talks about saving the profile for the C172. You'll figure it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zxi73gZhXDE

@804737 thanks, I figured that is what you were doing because it looks very realistic. And it's funny (in VR) i tried to shade it with my hand.. Unfortunately it didn’t work, lol. I’ll fool around with the contrast as well. Again, great job!

@Black-Square said in Autopilot with HSI free & Pitot block: @topfen said in Autopilot with HSI free & Pitot block: When the HSI gyro is free and the heading is slewed, the autopilot will follow the actual heading in HDG mode instead of the heading bug on the Gyro. I just happened to be in the right neighborhood to spot a flag in the SDK I had never seen before to enable this behavior. I guess I didn't see it in the past, because it had no default listed, so I would not have assumed that the default behavior was for the autopilot to be driven by the magnetic compass... Glad that's working now! Nobody is probably happier at these little features than I am, haha. Thanks for putting this in my mind recently. It will be rolled out to the entire fleet after SU4. I'm very happy to see that you're coming back to this! Meanwhile I had some fun watching the magnetic compass swing left and right while toggling the windshield heat on and off again.

You're referring to the taxi light? All aircraft lighting has been under constant assault in SU4 Beta, unfortunately.

Yes, the ground friction in FS2024 is nothing like it could have been, or hopefully becomes. It is also a major contributer to swaying across the centreline of runways as if tires didn't exist at all. In RL, tires have a lot of friction, especially laterally. If you have ever wondered why it is hard to keep ANY aircraft going straight when landing or taking off - there's your answer. Asobo have a lot to answer for imho after having raved about how they modelled this feature.

@DangerZoneDmo that’s a great post. LOP wasn’t talked about much when I flew GA aircraft back in the day. I don’t think I flew with any planes with Gami injectors so we just flew ROP. Now I just fly the bit metal tubes so my knowledge is just from watching YouTube videos or magazine. I’m guessing it’s a MSFS limitation because the mixture adjustment in general is very incorrect on most planes in MSFS. Maybe Blacksquare can do some tweaking in the future though to get it closer to your points.

@Black-Square Many thanks for your reply, and confirmation that nothing significant changed between the versions (as I suspected). That leaves the possibility that an OnAir update changed something, so I'll dive down that canyon now and see what I can see. And many thanks for an absolutely tremendous 'complex single'

@Petzep This is an excellent explanation of MTBF, and I have now pointed several other commenters in this direction to read it. Thank you for taking the time to write it

Although I'm always interested in more persistance and aircraft ownership features, it's really the inconsistency of Asobo's state saving that's holding me back. I don't want to create all these ownership features, just for some users to find their progress erased on some random load of their simulator. That would be more frustrating than not having the features, in my opinion! In the meantime, this conversation might interest you. It's all about how to think about MTBF, and how it differs from other damage models.

Came here to also post an observation but this seems related so I'll post here too. I use a Streamdeck to monitor trim values, which saves mousing down to look all the time. I use (A:ELEVATOR TRIM POSITION,DEGREES) I have noticed the following on the Bonanza TC The plane loads in with my Streamdeck showing 0 degrees elevator trim If I enable Settings > Flight Interface > Instrument Tooltips - that also confirms 0.0 degrees On the aircrafts trim markers, its showing around -1.5 degrees (the first D below 0) Moving the trim to 0 on the aircraft trim marker is showing me +2.1 degrees from the sim I can see the plane marker ranges from -15 to +15 ish and the sim is -20 to +20 degrees, so I would not expect the numbers to be perfectly align. However the fact that 0 is not 0 did throw me off. If I bind a button to "0 (>A:ELEVATOR TRIM POSITION, NUMBER)" it will reset as above - sim showing 0, trim marker at -1.5. So this would explain why when the OP sets their trim to 0 is getting a +2 degree climb Maybe this is how the aircraft really is??

After some research I finally got the mixture lever for the A36TC to work with axis and Oh's by using IE:BKSQ_TURBOCHARGEDMIXTURECONTROLLER with axis min 0 and max 1 float rounding. I suppose this would work for spad.next as well.

Do you think that in the future, the consumption of motor oil and its replacement will be feasible?

Thanks, I was curious if your useable fuel figures were simply just a number. Silly me...

@Ape42 That's some fairly impressive RPN. Would you like a career with Black Square Simulations? Thank you for providing that for my users! I didn't know that automated scripts were possible with SPAD. That's very good to know, and seems like an optimal solution for this particular question.

You might be able to reliably retrieve that data from... C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SimObjects\Airplanes\bksq-aircraft-bonanzapro[variant]\state.CFG (slightly different path for MSFS 2020)
