List Active/Inactive Failures outside the game
-
Good afternoon my BlackSquare friends,
Still enjoying a lot the Bonanza!I was wondering: can I monitor which Failures are Active and Inactive via Lvars or something like that?
I already got the number of active failures by monitoring LVAR:bksq_ActiveFailures and I can activate individual failures by using the Hvars from the manual, but I had an idea to display the name of the active failures outside the game.
Sorry if it's a simple work but I'm fairly new to this topic, adventuring myself here on FSUIPC7 and Spad.Next.Thank you in advance!

Surprisingly, you're possibly the first one to ask about this in four years. It's something I've thought about adding for a long time, but I was afraid there would be a performance impact. Now that I know the limitations of MSFS better, it would probably be fine, but I haven't done it yet. I will see if this is feasible for my Commander 114, and if it goes well there, I will add the feature to all my other aircraft. If you have something really exciting you're working on, I could also look at the code and see if I could give you a custom solution to test in the meantime

Thank you for the reply, my friend!
I'm starting to livestream my beautiful VFR flights, and I really like the failures to test my skills or to give more excitement for the viewers.
99% of my flights are on Blacksquare aircrafts
For now, I'm adding the number of active failures in the screen for the viewers to know how many are active before I figure it out (I usually don't see this, so I only discover during the checklists or procedures).
That's why I thought about listing which failures are active at the moment, for them to know before me.
Furthermore, I'm already testing a safe way for the viewers to activate random failures during the livestream
via Hvars and streamelements. That would be the first idea!

@eloyluised Wonderful! I've been waiting for someone to do something like that! Especially the chat integration. I'm surprised I haven't seen more streamers flying at 100x failure rates just for the fun and the challenge.
Agh, I just looked to see if there was something super simple I could send you, but the simplest solution is a little dangerous in terms of performance.

I agree with you, failures are fun and challenging!
I found the sweet spot at 50x failure rate, already got some big turbocharger failures live
Thank you for trying the solution, it was just a bonus for the livestream. Excited to see this in action in the Commander 114!
