@Cristi-Neagu thanks for this reply. Just had a look at the MSFS Forum it is a known issue which will be addressed by Asobo at some stage hopefully soon.

What was the difference in fps when you switched to the C172? And when you switched back to the PA28 it was worse again?

    What were the numbers?

I also don't understand why so many bush trips give you a plane with a G1000.

Times are changing, i guess, both in the aviation world and in the sim world. If you're buying a brand new plane today, chances are that it comes with a glass cockpit. I'm not sure, but i think the 172 comes with a G1000 as standard. And it seems like quite a lot of people in the FS2020 community want glass cockpits. I'm subscribed to the discord servers for both the GTN530 and the GTN750. And even though the Arrow is the only plane i know of with an actual model for the 750 and all other planes people use with it is just a hack with two thirds of a G1000 screen showing the 750, people are completely obsessed with it over the 530. I tried it for 2 minutes, saw how incredibly unrealistic it is in, say, the DA40, and decided not to use it. Good thing the Arrow now properly supports it, but i still prefer the 530.

So yeah, it's a response to the times and to the community. Steam gauges are on the way out. Even the idea that having a constant speed prop makes a plane complex is on the way out, with FADEC driven engines like those fitted to the DA62. And it looks like Asobo is catering more for that market. Is that a wrong thing to do? Who knows?

This issue is still the same in v0.4.0a, i.e. it still follows the GPS course even when the GPS unit itself is switched off. To be fair, this wasn't in the v0.4.0 changelog. Fingers crossed for v0.5.0.

Asobo fixed this issue in the most recent update (WU4).

@Brianmac60 You probably have save state enabled. After you load into the plane, save state takes over and overwrites whatever fuel you put in with the fuel you had last flight. So either you finished with empty tanks somehow, or maybe the saved state got corrupted.

@vcapra1 issue got fixed. It was a side effect caused by JF Piper Arrow Panel Lights with Uwa Lighting mod, a new version (1.0.4.0a) was released for v0.4.0 and got this issue fixed.

Indeed, 0.4.0a solves the 'black screen bug'. Thanks for prompt action!

  • ADF Panel Covers DME With GNS530 Selected

With Dual GNS I get the overlap, as there really isn't enough room for all of the panels, and the overlap is almost unnoticeable. With just the 530, the ADF panel is in the exact same place as Dual GNS, so it's likely either copy+paste error or a bug where it's using the location from the wrong layout.

Either way, likely an easy fix

@Ch4rly972 said in New aerodynamic change:

he specifies that this change will initially concern the cessna 172 and 152 as well as the turboprops and that's not a change you can make in the airplane files.

At 24:51 Seb says it's not a change in the sim, it's a change to the airplane file, which is exactly the opposite of what you claim he said...

Also, they are tweaking the rudder response and from the video it seems like they are making progress, but look at the yoke when they return the plane to straight and level flight. See how much more input the real 172 needs compared to the absolutely tiny movement on the simulated one? The planes are all too twitchy.

@Sender46 Turning it OFF sounds like a great idea, until Asobo fixes it again...

There is a reason that this is the best MFS add-on to-date, and the reason is the JF team, their hard work and their dedication to the community, which is repaid with long-standing loyalty.

    @captain744 said in RNAV Approach w/ PA-28R?:

@Martyn if the plane is equipped with the garmin 530 and set for an RNAV approach will the plane then be able to automatically follow the RNAV glide slope as well as the localizer when using the GPS mode?
Does a garmin 530 have/use its own built in vertical/lateral control system or is it still coupled to the aircraft’s autopilot system.

It's still limited by the autopilot which only provides roll control (apart from the hidden altitude hold clickspot) so unfortunately it won't track the glideslope automatically. You'll need to use the navigation hold mode to track the RNAV 'localiser' and then manually control pitch to track the glideslope.
