      With a flight plan entered in the World Map page, with GPS selected on the hidden NAV/GPS clickspot the aircraft will follow the GPS course even if the GPS is switched off. This happens with the GPS 100, GNS 430 and GNS 530. It seems to me there should be some logic in the programming to disable the GPS function when the GPS unit is switched off.

        There's a hidden GPS click spot?

          Yes, I know. That's why I said "... with GPS selected on the hidden NAV/GPS clickspot ...".

          My point is that the aircraft should not follow the GPS course if the GPS unit itself is switched off (i.e. if it is switched off using the switch on the GPS unit itself so that there is no power on the GPS unit).

            No. You misunderstand. Where is this hidden clickspot?

              It's on this label here:

                  @Leonard-McCoy Apologies for misunderstanding.

                  Further thoughts on this:

                  If you don't have Cockpit Tooltips on (which is unrealistic and spoils the immersion for me) you can't see whether NAV or GPS mode is selected (which is a pain).

                  How does the real aircraft switch between NAV and GPS modes when a GPS 100 is fitted? Can this not be replicated in the sim?

                  How does a real pilot see whether NAV or GPS mode is selected when a GPS 100 is fitted? Can this not be replicated in the sim?

                  Does it automatically go into GPS mode when the GPS is switched on? ... and back to NAV mode when the GPS is switched off?

                  Is it just MSFS limitations that prevent any of this being properly replicated? If that is the case it would at least be nice to know/understand how this works in real life.

                      This issue is still the same in v0.4.0a, i.e. it still follows the GPS course even when the GPS unit itself is switched off. To be fair, this wasn't in the v0.4.0 changelog. Fingers crossed for v0.5.0.
