@vcapra1, The MSFS ON/OFF commands, like the ones for the lights, use two separate commands, one for the ON switch position and one for the OFF position of a toggle switch. If you use these commands the switch cannot be changed in the cockpit with the mouse because it will held in the ON or OFF position by the commands being continuously sent from the Honeycomb switch... But, the SET command uses only one command which is bound to the ON position of the toggle switch, or to a button. When the toggle switch is flipped ON, or button is held down, the ON command is sent to the sim, and when it is released the function is then toggled back OFF, and it is then free to be controlled by the mouse. It sounds like that might be how yours is already set up, since you can control it with the mouse when the ALPHA switch is OFF.

The autopilot buttons on the BRAVO are not toggle switches, they are buttons, and are programed by the BRAVO software driver to send the required commands to turn the function ON or OFF. And, since they are not held down and the command is only sent once it doesn't interfere with the mouse control.

This is just a quick note before the weekend to confirm that we are working on a variety of changes to the flight dynamics ahead of the next update and will provide details of those changes ASAP. As ever with flight dynamics, and particularly in MSFS at the moment, there are various limitations/inaccuracies in the flight dynamics engine itself and compromises that have to be made (i.e. tweaking one value for accuracy can often reduce the accuracy of another), so it takes time to make and test all those changes properly.

Thanks for the report. We'll investigate and update the DME speed logic if required.

@vcapra1 This is working well after testing, genius you are!

With these modified settings I get some weird yaw oscillations even as the wings are kept level. It is most noticeable just before landing in a slight crosswind. I haven't done extensive testing but I have verified it isn't present with the default settings.

I suppose this is something to do with yaw_stability, but I'm not sure

@set3times I finally flew today for the first time in a while. Surface conditions were 70F today. By the time I got to the run-up area, about 8 minutes had passed. There was no movement of the oil gauge. I did a run-up and still no change. I took off and within a few minutes the needle was off the stop and climbing. About 5 mins into the climb it had reached a stable temperature.

You could also try the fix mentioned in https://community.justflight.com/topic/1802/compass-inoperable/5 but the problem was completely fixed in 0.3.0 as far as I know

@BernieV said in Throttle on takeoff:

If density altitude is > 5,000 ft, then lean to 100F rich of peak EGT, otherwise set mixture to full rich.

For those that want to know more, here is the inimitable Rod Machado explaining this in great detail (to only your left ear, unfortunately): https://youtu.be/eBUfWI4C6sE

Here are some additional recommended changes that will further improve the autopilot performance...

    ai.cfg

    ;nav_yawPID = 0.015, 0.005, 0.001, 1.0, 360

I notice that you didn't include a replacement for this line. Just checking to confirm whether that is what you intended.

Yes, this line has been commented out to completely remove this parameter...

This change, and the change to the Yaw Damper parameter, are needed to eliminate a constant left rudder input coming from the autopilot that causes the aircraft to slip during cruise flight. This aircraft has no autopilot rudder axis, so no rudder input should occur from the autopilot.

    Great explanation. Thank you.

I find the aircraft sounds of the Piper Arrow III absolutely stellar, especially with headphones on for the added effect.

@sluflyer06 yes, but that's not full time. 'Real world' involves shifts and can be quite demanding, the flight dynamics has to fit in around it and family.

    @Martyn Sorry it's my mistake!
FS2020's navaids are not the same as Navigraph's navaids. For example the VORDME DUB has a range of 130NM on Navigraph while it has a range of 38NM in FS2020. I use Littlenavmap with Navigraph navaid for this I had problems. I solved using Navigraph Navaid on FS2020 which updates the navaids on FS2020 (this program is still in BETA but it solved the problem).

@anderson here is the answer I got from JF support asking for LVar
"You can find all the Lvars in the sim by turning on developer mode and from the drop down menu selecting "Model Behaviour Debug" and clicking on "Local Variables".From there you can search for any Lvar in the aircraft"

@Ch4rly972 said in Suggestion : calibration option:

It would be nice to add an option in EFB to calibrate the throttle, propellers and mixture like Aerosoft's CJR.

But why? The arrow uses the default bindings so what is to gain? The CRJ does not use standard binds and also has detented power settings.

It's really odd, but if you just need the two manuals, they are available in the support section:
