@mmcmah You extend the beta in the tablet. Why? Why not? I always say that since I paid for the simulator, the computer and the aircraft, I get to fly it anyway I want. Some like "realism," some don't care.

@Black-Square Through my digging I found this NASA paper on turbochargers and one of the engines referenced is the Lycoming TIO-540. I can’t say which variant, but perhaps it would have something useful. https://ntrs.nasa.gov/api/citations/19840013811/downloads/19840013811.pdf

@Randolf That part, I'm not sure. Never worked on one or flew one in the real world. In reality I could be completely wrong about all of this actually, I'm just going off basic knowledge - mainly expecting to hear either "Oh, oops! Thanks for pointing that out, will be fixed next patch" or "Actually it's supposed to be like that"

Wonderful! It's been bothering me all day thinking about this, since there was nothing I could do to quickly fix it for you on my end. Thank you for sharing.

Hi, Thank you for your explanation! After moving the throttles out of the beta range, the engines stated and shut down as expected.

I use the mouse scroll wheel to operate those 3-position switches and it works pretty fine. But you need a mouse with well-defined scroll wheel "hops", some mice tend to have misaligned scroll wheel positions with the output they send, like sometimes two, sometimes none, for each scroll wheel hop.

I was having some crashes with the turbine variant, and a repair-install (using the installer app) fixed the issue. It might be worth a try.

Yeah, that would be nice if it could be like the Comanche, where every delivery is its own unique plane.

@lilycrose I’m using my throttle to set the power to the proper setting within the power charts. I’m demonstrating that the turbocharger is overperforming at high altitudes because when the proper power settings are achieved, the aircraft behaves as expected per the manual. TLDR: Turbocharger issue, not Flight Model Issue.

@Black-Square more reliable, but way more expensive to maintain

I kind of have it working using this: KNS81_chkButton_Press#1 (>L:var_RNAV_CHECKMODE, bool) KNS81_chkButton_Release#0 (>L:var_RNAV_CHECKMODE, bool) When you press and hold the CHK button it will flash the DME info and flash back, then flash back to DME and remain displaying it with an occasional flash, then revert to normal display on release. Everything else is working perfectly and I am very happy with Blacksquare for doing both this and the KNS80 RNAV units. My father had one of the very early KN74's installed in his Navajo Chieftain in the early 70's and loved using it. I remember watching the drum numbers rolling to their settings.

I think the human ergonomics have a role here. I have often found myself sitting left of optimum in an aircraft and caught myself out with the old swivel seat being slightly left of where I left it! Possibly through swivelling and getting up to back downstairs. I am trying to wear some divots into my office carpet but this would go down really well with my line manager Needless to say, I do eventually get it right only to wonder why the rudder pedals have shifted too.
