For some reason I'm no longer getting cylinder animation in the efb engine monitor pages. Oddly enough, the lower part is animating properly; i.e. ambient air, turbocharger, waste gate, etc. Anybody have an ideas beyond reinstalling (which I will try after this flight)?

    Thanks!

They look like they're behaving perfectly fine to me. At 3,000 RPM, the pistons are changing direction in the cylinders around 100 times per second. They would look pretty blurry to your naked eye too :)

Ah ok. For some reason I was thinking that when I looked during my first flight I was seeing discernable movement during flight as well as the firing of the spark plugs. Must have been hallucinating :). Thanks for the confirmation.

No problem :) For anyone who was curious the spark plugs are not solidly on throughout high RPM operations, either. They are still showing the frequency of spark plug firing, but averaged (or "blurred") over your framerate. Otherwise they would appear to flicker, giving the false impression that they were missing on some revolutions.

@Black-Square - on this topic, please allow me to compliment you on the tablet interface. Not only is it stunning and incredibly educational, but prior to release you’d said that it might degrade performance by just a few FPS when open, but I haven’t seen any impact at all. I’m amazed that such a brilliant interface somehow runs so seamlessly on my aging machine.

I'm so glad you feel that way. Thank you for sharing. I've learned some more tricks for improving tablet performance while working on the Starship, some of which I have already ported back into the Dukes, so performance should only get better from here. So glad to hear that you're enjoying it!

Have not had time to buy and test these aircrafts yet. But looking much forward to it!

When I do, will it possible to run the tablet externally on my iPad?

Absolutely! It pops out of the simulator's window like any other avionics, using right alt-click. I've seen at least a couple photos of people doing so already in their home cockpits.

yep, just tested it. I used the spacedesk app on my iPad and simply dragged the popped out tablet to the iPad-monitor. Worked like charm.
