"Storm window" causing immediate MSFS crash screen

So I've managed to accidentally open the small window on the pilots side no less than 6 times while flying on vatsim. Unfortunately doing so will cause MSFS to crash your plane immediately. The obvious work around right now is to disable that (Had it one so I know when I screw up and nail a tree on a short field) however it's made me curious if this is intentional. I have other 3rd party products that allow me to open said window with no issues other than getting blasted by some nice cool air up at altitude.

And for those wanting to prevent this for now, this is the option! Didn't realize it was split into 3 categories, yay I can still eat !@#$ on a tree and be punished for it!
