I just did another test flight and I can say that, if you want to fly in real weather and less stress and don’t want to struggle with plane every time, then go to Settings-Assistance options-Piloting- Auto Rudder ON.
Currently the only option to finish the flight in a good mood. The rest is up to the developers activity. Still waiting for a fix in the next update.

It is a bit heavy on performance, but for sure the most beautifully modeled and textured plane thus far in MSFS in my opinion. I wouldn't mind seeing some optimizations if possible.

Also, make sure if you have a Honeycomb yoke, that the avionics switch isn’t interfering. Radios work normal, but if my avionics switch is off on my yoke, weather radar is dead.

I think to remember that only the first 20 aircraft ( all mk1000 ) had this fat rear cargo door. The thinner door located a bit further back was introduced after that and was standard on all later F28 aircraft.

The paxdoor in its present situation was introduced after lots of complaints about the steep stairs when the aircraft had low fuel loads and few cargo in the hold. People had problems with the slopingdown of the steps. The present steps got have an extra folding step at the bottom. The second handrail was an option the airline could buy. Later it became standard. The folding plank in the doorway was an option for the airline the wanted to unload passengers via an passenger boarding bridge.

All F28 aircraft have an escapeslide installed at the RH Service Emergency door. Stowage of the slide is in the Galley recess

@tiiny The variable that isn't working for us is the "IS USER SIM" check variable, which we should be able to use to differentiate the player's aircraft behaviour from the Ai. Unfortunately, we've always had difficulties with multiplayer as the multiplayer aircraft share LVARs with the player aircraft, so we think it's something that will need to be fixed on the simulator.

We are continuing to look into this and it's a high priority on our internal bugs tracker, so we will be sure to update the F28 if we are able to find a suitable workaround.

  • HDG and BEAM conflict?

@flyforever HDG mode should always be able to be engaged regardless of what other autopilot modes are selected, but BEAM mode should only be able to be selected if an active NAV frequency is tuned in the VHFNAV radios, or a GPS course is active on the GNS530.

If you aren't able to select HDG mode, then that does sound like something strange is going on.

Could kindly raise a support ticket at the following link, with some steps to reproduce the issue? If you could put in the ticket what navigation option you were using at the time that would be a great help to us when trying to reproduce the issue (No GNS 530 selected, GNS530 selected with GPS mode, or GNS530 selected with VLOC mode).

@mark said in Gen 3 switch:

With regards to what GPS/FMS options we can bring to the F28, the current plan is to integrate the UNS-1 FMS once it's released for the 146, and then we may look into adding another GPS unit in the future (such as the KLN 90B).

Would be great to fly the Fokker with UNS, really looking forward toward its and BAE 146's UNS updates.

@flyforever Not for the heading, but I'm using buttons to set the pitch for the autopilot. Was a bit finicky but got there in the end, using Spad

@z06z33 Sadly it's not possible to open the pilot's windows in the F28. It's something we would like to add but it would require a fair amount of re-modelling and texturing work so it is unlikely to see it added at this stage.

We have logged this feedback on our internal bugs/feature request tracker though so we can reassess it for future updates.

  • KLN90B GPS instead of GNS530

@falcon71 Thank you for the offer! Martyn our development manager is currently on holiday at the moment, but I'll be sure to make him aware of this when he returns and we'll reach out to you if we need anything.

We did consider adding the KLN 90B for the F28s release, but unfortunately, we found out about the release of the KLN 90B a little too close to our projected F28 release date so we decided to stick with the WT GNS530 to not complicate matters that late into a project. With the KLN 90B not overwriting the autopilot, it does make it much more feasible for us to add it in a future update.

  • Make GNS 530 fully RNAV capable

Ideally everything should support the GNS750 addons, even if it means duct taping the box somewhere and connecting it with loose cables ;-) It's a good system to operate in a "modern" environment, and the 530 also has some limitations like not supporting holds.

From what I read, the Nightmare Mode FMC coming to the 146 would rather be a step back compared to the CRJ system currently available in that plane too.
