Unknown light source in cold and dark
-
I notice that I always have some light illuminating the cockpit even in cold and dark, even at a pitch black rural airport and no external light sources present, it looks like its bleeding through from the cabin but no lights are on at all. Other planes I have to turn on my flashlight to see anything but here there is always enough light to see.
When I go to external view I can see like a white light underneath the fuselage and also illuminating the top of my wings and its coming from nowhere I can see. I don't recall seeing this behaviour in V1 as now even when using the red light illumination there is still a white light effect in place as well even when none of the white lights are on, that's how I noticed this compared to the previous version.
Does this both in 2020 and 2024, only difference in 2024 is that when I pan around the outside view that mystery light source goes out when all the way at ground level, that's external only though, always have this light bleed happening in the cockpit still.

Actually, in my case it is just the flashlight that comes on automatically when loading in to cold & dark in the F28.
(From what I can find on the net, this is the default behavior in MSFS. The flashlight defaults to off in the only other addon that I regularly use at night, the Fenix Airbuses. I suppose those developers just chose to deactivate it in cold & dark as a matter of preference).

I was just about to post about the same issue.
MSFS2024
Cold and dark - flashlight off.
It is impossible to get a completely dark flight deck.
There is some sort of light coming from around the cockpit door. I have even tried turning the pax cabin lighting off and on. It is almost like there is a large thin fluro light on the roof aft of the panel.
I will try and post a screenshot.
But setup somewhere you know is completely dark with no external lighting and set cold and dark with flash light off - the cockpit is still lit.Scott

I tested this earlier today to get a screenshot, because I thought I had seen it before. I loaded into a remote clearing in northern Norway, time set to about midnight, cold & dark. I hid the EFB and looked around the cockpit with cabin lights off. I tried with the cabin door both open and closed. To my surprise, there was no light whatsoever, other than a couple pin-pricks of stars that didn't cast any light into the cockpit. No light around the door, no light in the cabin, no light in the cockpit. The only kind of odd thing is that all the gauges appeared kind of frosted while the rest of the cockpit was super dark.
