Well unfortunately there is not a lot of performance data available now. I will try to attaché what I have. Just Flight wont permit me to copy files, but here is a link to one set of data.
There are still operators of the 146/RJ, you could try contacting them, I'm sure they would help with a university project.
You could also try contacting BAE Systems.

i must admit from the point of view of the Spreadsheet I have been testing the performance calculations against the Just Flight aircraft as that is the only option I have. but I'm pretty confident, based on the historical routes operated that Just Flight have done an excellent job.

Thank you! So for the HSI portion we would essentially do what we would do while navigating over the cone of silence or whatever its officially called over the VOR to intercept the next course. I will try to pay attention to how the FD responds when you pass the GPS waypoint and maybe initially try to use 2-3 miles you mentioned to see if that may work. Ill also watch the AP and see if its turning prior to crossing the waypoint or if its secretely drawing an arc like a modern airliner and see if i can do that too or even if it does or not.

I created the following spreadsheet specifically for the 146, then modified it for the RJ series. The only BAe data I could find for flex was for the 502 engines in the 146, so if anyone has updated settings for the 507 series engines I would be happy to adjust the figures.
You can download the spreadsheet from Flightsim.to. It will only work with Libre office, which is also a free download. Any comments or suggestions for improvements would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply and for passing this on to the development team. I just wanted to let you know that I managed to control CRS1 successfully by using offset 0C4E (NAV1 OBS) for the course.

Thanks for raising this. You are correct that the navdata does not include gates so the FMS will not generate coordinates in that field. We will update the manual in the next RJ Professional update to reflect the FMS's behaviour in the simulator more closely.

Thanks for raising this. The IRS sub-section of the FMS is not simulated in the RJ Professional, so we will update the manual in the next RJ Professional update to reflect this.

The current 'time to NAV' (TTN) can be viewed in the simulator by hovering over the IRS alignment knobs with tooltips enabled.
