There are some improvements to the ATC interaction with v0.2.1 that should fix some of the issues previously reported. ATC should never give you a cruise altitude of 0ft now which did previously prevent the ATC menu from providing any other options once you have been handed off to another frequency.

The difficulty we are having is the UNS-1 doesn't care about your cruise altitude. Unlike other FMSs, the cruising altitude isn't entered during the UNS-1 during the pre-flight setup and therefore it cannot tell the in-game ATC system what your intended cruising altitude is for that flight. We are using a workaround at the moment to ensure that you are always given a cruise altitude and even if it's slightly low, you can still request higher through the in-game ATC menu. (Note, any ATC instructions to initiate a descent are controlled entirely through the MSFS ATC system, we are just telling the simulator what cruise altitude to set not when the top of descent is).

There are further improvements to the ATC interaction currently in development and these improvements will be included in a future update.

Thanks for this; I kept trying to figure out how to import my SimBrief plan in the UNS-1 on my Xbox -- even looked in the pdf manuals. Nothing would show up with I attempted to import my flight plan. This requirement to use the Modern FMS for Simbrief import should really be documented in the manuals.

@Mark said in 146 Cargo Variants and Various Callouts:

The 'cabin announcements', 'cabin ambient sounds', and 'auto cabin crew' will all be greyed out in the cargo variants as they are specific options for the passenger variants. However, these options should have no effect on the pilot callouts as they are controlled via the 'pilot callouts' option.

The callouts during each stage of flight require the aircraft to be set up in the correct state. For example, for the takeoff callouts to play the landing and strobe lights must be turned on, and the throttles advanced above 40% N1.

One way to confirm if the callouts are working correctly is to load a flight on the runway, ensure the 'pilot callouts' option is enabled on the EFB, and then take off. As the aircraft is set up for takeoff, the callouts should play.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for the reply, and sorry for the delay; I had completely forgotten I had posted this.

I tried what you suggested, and it did indeed work with the 300QT variant. What I discovered along the way was, since I usually have MSFS on external speakers and set the in-game Communications device to my headphones, it seems like that's where the Pilot Callouts are coming through. When I initially tried it and it didn't work, I was in VR and had adjusted everything around that except likely the MSFS Communications device.

Also tried moving that to my speakers and that's where I started hearing him, so I think I'm all set.

@Mark The latest update totally fixed this! So much smoother and enjoyable for us folk that are able to run it at higher FPS. Main thread plot agrees.

This was already one of my favorite planes, but now with this and the nosewheel steering smoothed out, I might have to put my PMDG 737 in long-term storage. Thanks a bunch. I love you guys!

I am not using MobiFlight so just a hint that it will not be easy:
MCP_Alt_sel_knob does not really care if you decrease it by 1 or by 10, it just registers the change. And is sensitive to the speed of sending changes.
If you send changes slower than about every 10ms you get altitude change of 100ft per tick.
If you send changes within some narrow middle speed band you get altitude change of more than 100ft per tick - I was able to consistently get 300ft per tick by sending change every 1ms and there is some range where you get 1000ft per tick.
If you send changes even faster they get missed and altitude does not change.
