Thanks all! I did read the whole manual, but I must have rushed through that part to get the Operating Procedures. Sorry for the noise. This plane has so much character. I remember two of them at the airfield a bicycle ride away form my house when I was around 10. Of course they were new then. I helped a man wash and wax Arrow in return for for an afternoon flight. Thanks to all who created and published it.

@copper Agreed. I just sent them a suggestion for that.

@alexjberry said in Alternate Air not selectable: Worked it out... I had anti-ice configured to one of the Bravo Throttle buttons, and this is what's mapped to the Alernate Air switch in the Arrow, which kinda makes sense, I guess... So now, I can just flip my Anti-Ice button and hey-presto, the Alternate Air lever changes position accordingly. Thanks for the find! I'll try that later since I also have de-ice bound to my Honeycomb Bravo.

Seems to respond, but it's indicating ISA deviation, not OAT.

@AndyBooth said in Transponder not working: EDIT: This is only starting in cold and dark. Starting on runway when flight start, it is working fine. It is also fine if you're using the ATC menu to acknowledge the squawk since then MSFS sets the code and activates the Transponder. It's just that the knob that should turn on the transponder doesn't correctly switch the state, it's only changing the visuals. When starting on a runway, you can't turn it off either, so the knob has no function other than the animations. I reported the issue already a few days ago via a ticket, let's hope they fix it in the upcoming patch.

Yep, the FPS increase will only be visible if you're CPU bound since it basically only affects the CPU load. @Craig said in JF PA-28 Arrow CPU Heavy?: Unfortunately, Third Party aircraft cannot be compared in anywhere to basic aircraft in MSFS, Third part aircraft will contain a lot more custom code and generally more realistic than anything from the base sim, meaning that it will use more resources than anything from the base sim. Well this is a bold statement if even a complex airliner which definitely has more lines of code and logic and screens has less FPS impact. The EFB with it's static display eating so much CPU power is simply unoptimized and should be fixed. There is no reason that the EFB alone (the rest of the logic is still working fine while the EFB is off!) costs so much performance.

@squareflux Well the mods change the interior colors, but not the panel. Not sure what @lessph exactly means with cockpit colors. From the screenshots it at least seems like the panel of the Turbo version will look slightly more blue-ish (not all black), but I also hoped to get that brown and a lighter color to swap. Probably won't happen and we'll have to wait for modders

The gauge currently reads 15 degrees below whatever the game is set to at MSL. I think it's just been calibrated incorrectly.

@copper said in Autopilot unable to track a localizer: do you use? Maybe try OMNI or NAV instead of LOC, I've heard LOC doesn't work in some cases but didn't try it myself yet. At least it could be a workaround I'm struggling to get LOC to work as well, it frequently just wanders of in a 2 minute circle ignorring the localiser entirely. However I've had more success using OMNI to initially catch the localiser, setting heading bug to localiser header then switching to Heading and finally swithing to LOC. I haven't tested it enough to say it truely reliable but it's worked for me so far.

It's possible that your aircraft has picked up icing which is not currently visible on the frame. This affects the climb performance of the aircraft. I had this same issue. You can check the amount of ice on the aircraft frame from the developer bar.

Lean the mixture until you get the highest EGT, then richen back up by about 2 notches on the gauge. There is also a bindable mixture setting in MSFS that will set the best mixture. You can bind that to a key to give you a guide of where the best mixture setting is. Just note that best mixture setting changes depending on altitude, engine and prop rpm and temp.

I like the Garmin 100, I fly VFR anyway, and that little unit has a wealth of information on it. Winds, temps, different altitudes (MSL, DALT) and Ground speed and others. Very handy. I KNOW the GNS's do it all too, but the Garmin 100 is not there just for show, it has a purpose.
