@SadBucket Thank you for this!!! Turning it off is a great workaround for now. I've just been waiting until the last second to turn my landing light on.

@DangerZoneDmo said in Excessive leaning does not damage the engines?: @bocian I honestly have no idea what a ferry pilot would do in terms of leaning, but I assume that they'd likely run quite lean of peak, in addition to using ferry tanks. There is a point of diminishing returns where, if you lose too much speed over a long distance, it will actually cost you more fuel as the time it takes is much longer. I'm gonna look into it, as I'm interested now. I'm sure there are math people out there that can calculate that all out, but I'm not one of them. I've spent quite some time with the math in the sim. There, it's a pretty obvious correlation: Lean as much as possible for maximum range: [image: 1822b6db-4191-4e0a-9745-cb9acd274143.png] Also, if you want a great video on leaning in general, check out this one by Martin Pauly: Lean of peak engine operation Thanks for that link, this video helped my understanding a ton and basically answers my initial question: The damage model works correct, heavy leaning does no harm to the engine. Will look deeper into the simulated spread of the cylinders though, maybe there's still something to nitpick if one of them runs in the "red zone" when lean of peak.

+1 I had the same impulse when I spotted the first bugs on that shiny new airframe.

If you're doing the Greek islands then it should be warm enough that the engines start well. You can even see the fuel and oil move in the right tab on the tablet, very cool.

@MiRexer said in Small sound issue ...: Taxi a little slower and it'll go away - but I think Nick said something about adjusting that in the future. If you haven't tried it yet taxi the Baron and start your runup with the window open - it's GLORIOUS!! It happens at slow taxi an at T/O also ... which isnt corresponding with reality. But thanks for the hint with the open window ... glorious indeed !!

Seems to me that they haven't simulated the stability of most aircraft in sims yet. I'm the real world most turbulence disturbs the aircraft some but if you ride it out it'll self right. I don't think they've modeled that well yet. Until they do turning it up is going to be problematic. I agree that medium seems like off and realistic is too much.

I found L:var_CorrectedAlternatorAmps_L and _R, using SPAD.neXt. I did take time to review the documentation, did not see these but then after reviewing your note above I thought to bring them up in SPAD. I now have an operational Air Mgr instrument displaying ALT LOAD and BUS VOLTS. It checks other variables to confirm that the Battery Master and the corresponding Alternators are online. Thanks

Well yes, the option is disabled otherwise. Originally it was removed entirely, but after some people were able to force it to work pre-SU4, Nick put the option in for those who wanted to tinker with it. At some point I would imagine that will be patched out and it will be enabled permanently.

Even better now that SU4 has fixed the wingtips and made the dynamic tail number work!![image: 4d88c0a8-431b-4e74-a315-03d129750210.jpg]

I've been having some pretty icy flights lately. Today out of curiosity I left the ice on the wings after the descent and approach (wasn't in the clouds long - just a normal approach) - normally I'd be at 20" and 2400 rpm at 100 knots on final with full flaps and gear down - on this flight I had to be at 30" to maintain that 100 knots. [image: 233d8190-d9b8-4a92-bdee-eb24c66566f9.jpg] This was a flight from KOMA to KMSP around 1500Z if you want to give that flight path a try - flew the whole thing at 5,000 feet.
