Re: Spinner animation
This strange spinner animation on the Duchess (with rotating prop holes) has never been changed or an alternate spinner animation offered, at least for P3Dv4, although I see from the video for the XPlane release of the Duchess that it was changed for XPlane. I suppose the animation is baked into the P3Dv4 exterior model.
I've just been looking at the video for the recently released PA-38 Tomahawk for P3Dv4, which I was considering buying, and I see that the same strange "rotating prop hole" spinner animation has been used for that plane as well. This animation is so annoying, unrealistic, and and immersion breaking for me , that I will simply not purchase any planes using it, no matter how otherwise finely modeled the plane is.
Please kindly ask the person doing the modelling for the spinners to desist from using that "rotating propeller hole" animation, or at least offer an alternate animation.
Sorry for the rant and being so petulant, but I was actually looking forward to having the Tomahawk - until I saw that strange spinner animation.
Oh well, not a total loss for Just Flight; I'll use my JF points for Aeroplane Heaven's Socata Rallye instead.
Got me there. I see the vortices when doing aerobatics, but they just look like standard contrials.
Shouldn't be there are 400 feet and 200 kias.
I think it's an issue in XP11.... a number of default stuff does it too.
I'll find a plugin to adjust the values.
And will I have to mess with the alpha channels to reduce the reflection strength ? Even Carenado give the option to disable them.
Hi, I am using the Warrior in P3D 4.5 hotfix 2. However, the towing is behaving odd, I cannot move forward, only backward, and at high speed. Also not really being able to turn left or right. Is this an issue of the lastest P3D or the plane in need of an update? Thanks for any advice.
Done to death beforehand on the old forum and over at Avsim. We had plenty of real-world Arrow pilots involved, both initially and then joining in for the initial SP. One (and only one) was adamant that there should be a strong nose-up pitching on flap extension, the rest were insistent on a fairly stable / nose down tendency. The POH doesn't help, mentioning pitching but not stating which way, but it does say that it can be easily held by hand rather than needing trimming out.
I seem to recall discussions on PPrune as well as among our testers where the same aircraft was accused of pitching either up or down, dependant on who you listened to. It's been a long time since I worked on these files, but I think that what was settled upon was a very slight upwards pitching on flap extension but that the drag created (and resultant slowing of the aircraft) would pull the nose back down.
It's a really difficult situation, there is no 'black and white' definitive answer to your question, only about ten pilots / owners who would each give their own fairly in-depth description and what we ended up with was what you have.
I bought vc10 pro and have some problem with the autopilot. First when I engaged NAV mode it failed to follow the INS course. Second it failed to capture the glide slope when using GS AUTO mode. Am I doing something wrong or it is just a bug to be fixed?
Apologies, thought I'd got back on this already - In a word, no: The airfile is only using the FSX tables, so that suspicion was unfounded. I'm at a loss as to what could be causing it. Everything should be balanced, I cannot see the problem myself and really don't know what to suggest.
Sorry that it's not better news,
@Derek The previous photos showed an East-West line and a North South line. The 2 lines meet at LAT N 54 - 39.45 LON W 2 - 39.27. I hope that helps. I have seen the problem in other areas but unfortunately I did not make a note of where they were. Sorry.
Interesting link, but the planes do already come with the pylons when loaded the first time. Even if I try to remove the pylons by the TV screen dialogs the pylons do not disappear. The TV screen dialogs simply do not work (in my system FSX boxed with DX10 preview)
by the way, is the DX10preview (with fixer) the reason cause the JF Tornado is not compatible with DX10??
maybe thats it...
It's a proprietary 'off the peg' program. No idea how it's written.
If you click on the 'Home' tab it shows everything in order.
Main headings, sub-heading etc.
TBH I usually just click on the 'recent' icon to see what's new. That sorts everything in time order.
@f16jockey said in De Havilland DH106 Comet 4:
Maybe that's OK for JF quality control, but not for me. Sorry.
It came out over 8 years ago. Did you report this to Support? If so, what response did you get? The aircraft was patched after release to clear a few reported bugs but this wasn't one of them.
I just moved my copy over to P3dV4.5hf1. The sim is functional for me with no graphics errors. There are numerous problems with the flight model and engine problems, but it installed and otherwise functions.
