No internal sounds

@Paul-in-Keighley Thanks for the information. Obviously, that shouldn't be the case. You say, "disturbingly quiet", and I've seen others say "like a glider". Clearly something is wrong. We've never seen this with any of my other aircraft, but it's difficult for me to diagnose with this very poorly timed Piaggio mixup. If you were willing to help us diagnose the problem, I would be most interested to hear if there is any difference with no other aircraft in your community folder, and if not, perhaps a short video recording to show us what you are experiencing.
@Black-Square i am happy to help as well. please let me know if there's something specific you want me to test. in my case, all the sounds aside from the engine sound fine. switches, alarms, etc. sound just as crisp as all your other planes. the engine sounds from the cockpit are very muffled.
i am on fs'20. i do own the flightfx piaggio however i have not updated the plane to it's latest version and haven't flown it in quite some time.

@scoobyx Thanks for weighing in. Since you've been very vocal about your disappointment, I would be interested to hear what you're listening to, and see if it differs at all from what I can hear on my own computer. Clearly, I would not have released an aircraft with April Fools sounds, so I do wonder if there is some deeper problem at play here than personal taste. I'm worried that I will hear no difference between our two installations, but I suppose that's important data in itself, if you're willing to share a video.

I also think the sounds were pretty quiet compared to other planes, but I didn’t see it as an issue. I do have the Piaggio installed, I’ll remove it this evening and check^^

@Black-Square let me work on putting a video together. I'll report back when it's ready.

@scoobyx Thanks for lending a hand. I know just recording a simple video can be a pain if you're not used to doing it. I record all my own videos for the Just Flight YouTube channel, and I still hardly know what to do if someone asked me for a video.

Have tested the cargo variant engine sound level against the passenger one and it seems the same to my cloth ears. Dropped all volume levels to 20 apart from engine sounds and this has fixed things for me inasmuch as it sounds like I would expect it to in the cockpit (which may or may not be accurate but its sounds "right" to me). I'll continue to keep an eye open for other posts on this subject in case it's not just a user preference thing. Thanks for the aircraft by the way, it's been a worthwhile wait!

Hi. I'd also like to report that I had the no sound/very very quiet sound two times. I first thought it was related to sound devices as it seemed to happen when I quit/restarted the PimaxPlay client. I had originally selected "default" as sound devices in MSFS2024 as it has seemed to be the best option since Pimax sound device is only present when PimaxPlay is running. It gets removed when the software is stopped. Since I changed the sound devices to Pimax in MSFS2024 I haven't had the sound problem with Caravan. And yes, I have the Piaggio installed. I can't of course say for sure this was the issue, because it's only been few sessions and few flights but so far it looks like it fixed.

It is possible to fly with sounds after a reinstall or restart ; but not every time.
The fault affects other BlackSquare aircraft like the Turbo Duke and changing sound settings has no effect.
After some restarts ( and I mean some ) the Caravan will start perfectly but without a further restart other aircraft are affected in the same way ... no engine sound.
The FFX Avanti seems to be higlighted as a main source of conflict but I'm not too sure. Having flown the Avanti and then restarted the sim to fly the Caravan there was no sound. A further restart and the Caravan started normally.
I expected glitches but it's not often we see one addon aircraft afecting so many others. I'm sure it will be fixed but until then it wont be used. -

@Black-Square here is the video i pulled together. it's sectioned off by some time in the caravan pro cockpit, then the turbine duke cockpit, and finally the analog caravan cockpit using the ftsim+ sounds. Please excuse the beginner-level editing and lack of adherence to checklists. I'll repair my engines prior to my next flights, I promise.

I wanted to try to pull together a small sample of sounds that might help me compose some more meaningful thoughts to give you.
I realize sounds are super subjective so take this feedback as you please. The engine sounds on the new caravan pro sound much quieter to me, especially at the ends of the throttle (at idle, it sounds like there's a cabin fan running in the background, not an engine) and at max power it just feels like it's missing that throaty roar that you get out of the other two soundscapes. It just feels like it lacks depth and purpose.
I was also noticing that there was almost no difference when moving the condition lever from low to high or back in the new caravan pro. There should be something more going on here, right?
Something seems off with the beta / reverse thrust but since my IRL piloting experience is limited to single-engine pistons, I don't have real-world experience to base this off of. It just sounds thin and not throaty like I would expect.
Honestly, now that I am reading back through this it sounds to me like the entire engine soundscape is lacking bass and depth. That's the best way I could describe my experience.
I hope this helps. I am happy to do more testing / sampling / whatever if it would help you. Also, as an aside I initially started up my sim, uninstalled the FlightFX Piaggio and restarted the sim prior to collecting these samples. I don't think that causes an issue on '20 but I wanted to eliminate it from the board just in case.
