When I checked a couple days ago, dynamic registration was still broken. I will remind Asobo of this on Monday. Unfortunately, the dynamic registrations in my aircraft cannot be hard coded, because I created my own system for them, and that is what remains broken in MSFS 2024.

Starship doesn't work, but the Dukes are just fine! Just so you know.

@MatzeH84 This is in SU3 Beta of MSFS 2024? Is it repeatable, even after selecting different liveries? You could test this quickly by using the "Select Aircraft" menu in Developer Mode (don't make a habit of using this, though. It can mess up the initial conditions of the aircraft). I will check on my end too, but I still won't release it with registrations until Asobo's fix it out of beta.

No, SU2. However not out of the box my workaround is to load the Duke, enter a custom reg and click save (so you get back to the preflight screen). Then I open the aircraft once more, go to custom reg again and save that again.
That way I get the custom reg on the aircraft when entering the actual flight.
If you don't take the second loop, the reg will only be visible at the second time you start a flight (for example on the next sim start, given that you don't change aircraft and livery).
However this doesn't work with Starship.

Thank you for the clarification. I was hoping Asobo had actually fixed the problem by now. It doesn't work for Starship, because I completely disabled the registration system for MSFS 2024. It hurt me to do it, but if I waited for Asobo to fix the problem, we might not have seen Starship until 2026.

I downloaded one of the liveries from flightsim.to and the registration works fine on that one, with the exception of the aircraft selection screen where it flickers in black. Their livery appears as a different "variant" in the MSFS 2024 aircraft selection.

I guess that flicker in the menu is the reason you disabled it? Too bad because in the game it appears to work fine, for the short time I tested it anyway. I'm not second-guessing your decision because the flicker looks awful and unacceptable for a release, even though it seems to work in game.

The flickering was across all my aircraft, also when loaded in the sim, and depended on whether or not you visited the aircraft configuration screen first.

I noticed that when you re-load the aircraft on the livery selection screen after picking that N8244L livery, it stops flickering in the aircraft menu too. It shows my custom tail sign. Totally functional in the sim, I flew a long flight and never saw an issue.

@Marionettework I've got that livery from Tim and it wasn't working either for me. So to clarify on SU3...Select the aircraft livery, then save it and then go in and reselect it and then fly?
                    Cheers

Cheers @Marionettework and @MatzeH84, that finally worked for Tim's N8244L livery, I was wondering if the fact I was adding the ATC callsign Starship and the last 3 characters of the tail were breaking it as well but it seems not, couldn't seem to get any others to play ball though, infuriating, like that whole aircraft selection page is in general...

I've attached a video of my random clicking in case it helps anyone....I might investigate copying the reg config that Tim has used (or reenabling Nick's original code) and see if that works for the inhouse liveries, but to be honest I've spent so much time p1ssing around with idiosyncrasies in 2024 and learning Mobiflight to map variables I'm not actually flying the bird!
