At the moment, the only way the copilot can be disabled is via the MSFS 2024 'Pilot Profile > Customise Identity' settings. Those settings can be accessed by clicking on your Xbox gamertag when in the MSFS 2024 main menu. We have less control over the pilot characters in 2024 compared to the avatars in 2020, so unfortunately, there are some limitations currently compared to their functionality in 2020. We have no plans to change the package names of any of our products. It is an SDK requirement to have the package names identical across MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 products, and it is particularly important for in-game marketplace products to ensure that we can offer a free-of-charge upgrade path between 2020 and 2024 versions. If the package names were to differ between the simulators, then the marketplace would consider them as two separate, unrelated products and require a full price purchase in both simulators. I've seen a couple reports of this in MSFS 2024 with several different aircraft. To the best we've been able to determine, there is some residual payload that it left in the payload interface between sessions. I completely believe this, because MSFS 2024 retains many variables and states from previous sessions, which make debugging and switching aircraft on the fly very difficult for us developers. Try applying a new payload from the EFB payload interface and see if that helps. Otherwise, hopefully someone else who has seen this before and fixed it might chime in.

Well yes, the option is disabled otherwise. Originally it was removed entirely, but after some people were able to force it to work pre-SU4, Nick put the option in for those who wanted to tinker with it. At some point I would imagine that will be patched out and it will be enabled permanently.

Yes, I noticed the same thing yesterday after installing SU4. It was only 1 flight, so I'll be trying some other flights today.
