I've just taken the current version, freshly downloaded from the site, for a circuit. I deliberately did not trim at all through the flight so it's not a case of 'it has to be correctly trimmed' as you sometimes see with sim aircraft. Able to lift the nosewheel at around 25-30 kts under power, and on the approach / flare with full flap I was comfortably able to make the rear fuselage touch down before the mainwheels using full aft stick but being a bit more sensible could flare perfectly well and maintain a nose-high attitude down again to 30kts.

If you are seeing different to that, the only things I can suggest are 1) check you're on the latest version. 2) are your controller curves linear, as recommended?

Damn, I'm trying to load it into MSFS 24 and my computer just shuts down when I try to load into the plane.

What did you guys do to get it to load other than drag it into the community folder?

Weird, not possible to clone-stamp a little in Photoshop? If it does work, there should be no sticker there?

@NickD27 Thanks for your input. I thought it seemed like I had to push the yoke forward a significant amount to have any result.

We'll see what the dev team can find when they look into it.

I agree. Thank you JustFlight team! This update is a massive improvement. The stall and slow speed characteristics I would say are now far more true to life. Also the pitch up effect when deploying the flaps - this is nicely captured, most small GA planes I've flown in the sim incorrectly model this as a pitch down so this was really great!

If I were to nitpick the only comments I would make are that the climb performance seems a bit optimistic still - don't think I've ever seen more than +1000fpm even flying solo - 6-800fpm is more like it, these birds are not powerful. Cruise speed and power settings seem absolutely spot on though.

And the ground run on takeoff doesn't require right rudder which it does in the real aircraft. After lift off though the ball does slip out to the right requiring right rudder, which is correct.

@jmarkows At the moment we just have the Warrior flight model in testing as that is what we received the most feedback on from the community.

Once that has been released the plan is to revisit the Arrow, Turbo Arrow and Warrior flight models again once MSFS 2024 releases, as we are hoping that will open up a few more doors in the flight model and allow for some more significant improvements. We'll be sure to share more information on that once we get access to the new simulator and the SDK.

Looking at the approach plate, it's 22.3 NM on the 020 radial from LRP to OUTLT. Which is 12.7 NM on I-VXO, the localizer. I don't see KLNS anywhere on the approach plate. If you are calling LRP KLNS, it's still 22.3 NM, not 12.7 NM.

I'm not clued up on the regulations myself, but our reference photos for the PA28s were taken in 2016/2017, so that may have been before any 8.33KHz regulations were put in place.

    @hjy

    THANK YOU

I had actually given up and never installed the Warrior.
I am on Windows 11 and your second solution fixed it for me!
I downloaded the installer again and still had the issue.

Wow - I might even pick up the 146 now!

    Thank you very much.

@NickD27 said in Better flight model?:

In 28 knot gusts I would absolutely expect the plane to be basically uncontrollable on the ground and to weathervane significantly when airborne

I had the same issue today. Reported winds were 280 at 16 while taking off from runway 34. Once I hit 40-50kts indicated, just careened left into the wind and off the runway.

    That's a crosswind of only 10 knots.

The airport doesn't have its own weather station but is about 8 miles from two larger ones that do. The one had the reported winds, the other was reporting 270 at 11G22.

That shouldn't be too much, right?

I am having all sorts of problem with the AP. Only HDB mode works and that only works when you first turn on the AP. None of the buttons in the cockpit appear to work.
