Duke Turbine (maybe others) does not display correctly after PMS50 install on Xbox
-
So I have had the Duke for some time now on FS2024 and have been enjoying it a lot.
I found out last night that you can now get the PMS50 add on in the sim (on xbox) and I was happy to see this as I feel it was what was lacking for the Duke and other aircraft. So I promptly downloaded it last night and was looking forward to giving it a go today.I log in today and when I load in with the Duke it shows up in pink/purple squares for most of the aircraft and is completely unflyable.
As I am on the xbox there is no means to update anything but I have checked and it seems to only cause issues on the Duke. I have tried other aircraft and I am not sure what to do now as the plane is unflyable like this. Please help!

Hmm... The developer hasn't told me about any breaking changes. Is this the freeware or payware version of the GTN? My aircraft ship with the free version of the PMS50 GTN already embedded, so I'm surprised you felt this was missing. What exactly is pink/purple squares? The GTN screen, or more of the aircraft? It's hard to believe that the GTN could affect the loading of aircraft textures. Have you seen anyone else report this with any aircraft using the GTN?

I’m also on Xbox, and I’ve been using the bundled GTN for the Dukes, without problems for a long while now. I too acquired the Marketplace version of the PMS GTN, and went to see how this was handled by different aircrafts.
In aircrafts that are compatible with this unit, but where the developer didn’t bundle it, it now works as expected, whereas previously it wasn’t available. In the Duke, and I’m guessing other Black Square planes as well, it uses the bundled version, just as before. I can tell because the version numbers differ slightly. I don’t have any missing or pink textures, never had with this unit. Tested in both FS2020 & 2024.
Which leads me to a feature request: would it be possible to have the Duke use the Marketplace version of the PMS GTN, when available, instead? I’m assuming PMS will update this version from time to time, so it would be more up to date, than the Duke bundled version.

This is a paid version. You can buy it on the Xbox marketplace and it allows you to use an out version of the PMS50. This is huge as it allows every aircraft to have charts and simbrief.
I have the marketplace version and I also have the lifetime premium subscription to the PMS50.What I found missing is the features that are not available to the free version or lite version. This is another reason why the paid version is also great.

@ploodovic perhaps I am having an issue because I am using an updated premium version and not just the free/lite version that is bundled with the aircraft.
You can purchase a Liscense to activate all the other features which for me is the game changer as it now allows charge on every single aircraft via the toolbar out. -

I don't think this is something that I can do, but it does sound like something that would be advantageous for the PMS50 developer. I can't imagine he would want people using the possibly out-of-date bundled version, rather than his payware version. When I have a little more information on the situation, I will write to him to ask for an update on the situation.

This is what I see when I load into any of the Duke versions with the GTN750 from PMS50 from the Xbox Marketplace.

Perhaps this may also be an issue since I am on the Beta?
Seems the Duke will not load in now after install of the PSM50 even after I disable it in the manager.Perhaps just coincidental timing?

I did some testing on this.
I am on an Xbox Series X on FS2024.
The problem apeared when I downloaded the PMS GTN750 add on from the in sim Marketplace.
I downloaded the PMS GTN750 and I also went and purchased the "Premium" feature set from PMS for this unit to unlock all features.
When I loaded into the sim I went stright to the Duke Turbine and loaded into my local airport (CYPK) to load up the new GTN750 features. When I loaded in this is when I noticed the pink textures on the aircraft. I ignored it for that moment and got the GTM750 liscense inputted and then restarted the sim.
After restart I had hoped this would solve the issue but it has not.I have tested this GTN750 on other aircraft that have it in sim like the 414 and 310R. Both show it correctly and have no issues at all.
I have tested all 3 versions of the Duke (Piston, Royal, and Turbine) and all 3 display this way.
My experiance was on the Beta program so I unenrolled from the Beta to see if that would make any difference. It did not.
After each change in the sim I completed closed down the sim, full restart on the xbox and fresh load into the sim but with no changes.I reached out to PMS via their discord about this as well and they did some quick testing and showed no issues loading in any of the Dukes. We confirmed the versions of the Duke were the same and the version of the GTN750 were the same. They were unable to duplicate the issue I am having here.
I am at a loss of what to do about this now as I feel I have exhausted all options for getting this sorted out. Any assistance on this would be massivly apprecaited at the Duke is my "go to" aircraft right now. I am patiently awaiting the Baron and Bonanza to release on the xbox marketplace and hope they will not have the same issue.

I applaud your attempts to research this and find a solution on your own! Unfortunately, I'm quite at a loss too, because I can't imagine how an avionics addon could mess up texture loading. With PMS50 confirming that everything is working well, as it is for me, then I can't imagine where to go from here.
If you want to try one more avenue to find information, you could try Just Flight support. Let them know that we've been talking (link this thread for photos, if you like) and just ask if they've seen anything like it before. They often have knowledge of many more simulator level issues than I do, across all aircraft, while I specialize in just my own. So sorry you have to deal with this, btw. Software can be so infuriating...
I can start to send you down the path of troubleshooting it how I would myself, but I don't know what you have available on XBOX in the way of developer tools. Is there an option to enable developer mode from the main options menu?
