    Hello all,

First and foremost, thanks to Black Square for this incredible add-on. It's mindblowing. Aside from all the great technical stuff, the plane is just FUN to fly. Really awesome.

My aim is to build a 1:1 replica of the starship cockpit at home (or as near to it as I can). I've been trawling the internet for information, and have a lot of the technical bits figured. What I can't figure out is the exact dimensions of the cockpit MIP.

I was hoping someone would have a diagram (blueprint?) of this, so I can get the dimensions correct for the MIP, the sizes of the screens, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Never has there been a more noble pursuit, if you ask me! All the diagrams I've seen in the maintenance manuals are not sufficiently high resolution or accurate to the production version of the aircraft to be useful, in my opinion. The best I can offer is a high resolution render of my MIP for you to work from. I can't promise that everything is 100% accurate, but if you like the way my Starship looks, then this should suffice.

I have corrected the rotation of the MIP (~12°), so it is the correct vertical dimensions in this render. The width of the MIP from the bottom left-most corner to the bottom right-most corner is 1.56388m. The minor grid lines (the smallest visible) are 1cm, and the major grid lines are 10cm.

I am happy to get you any other information that you need, so long as you share your progress!

Of course, the image is too big to upload here, so I will have to find another way to share it... Would you like to get in touch with me directly? It might be helpful for your future questions, and I have a soft spot for cockpit builders. If you make a Just Flight Support Ticket, and tell them that I said to put you in touch with me directly, they will connect us. Sorry for the extra step.

No worries, thanks for the prompt reply!

I plan on documenting the journey. Not sure if I can do the youtube thing or not, may just be a blog of some sort, but would love to somehow give back to this wonderful community. Been on the fence for years, but finally found a plane I love enough to warrant building the cockpit!

Will file a support ticket imminently.

I'm glad to know that there is someone else out there who feels as strongly about Starship as I do! I have been threatening to build a home cockpit for many years, but can also not decide what aircraft to emulate. For the last year, everyone I know has been saying, "Well, I think it has to be Starship, right?" Perhaps they are right! Like I said, I will help you however I can. I look forward to hearing from you!

I'll have to reach out as well, I'm planning on building a cockpit of my own when I can. It seems the obvious choice for a home cockpit, with incredible systems that make it worth being able to reach out and touch the controls directly (rather than just putting everything on auto, like in some other aircraft). Plus, it's my all-time favorite.

Is there any word on the "cockpit builders edition" that's been mentioned before? While I can't build the whole pit now, I've gotten a couple portable monitors to perch on my Honeycomb controls and would love to have separate left- and right-side PFDs, etc. I'm also planning on finding (or making) a 3d model of the CDU to wire together an actual keypad.

Thanks for making this amazing aircraft, it's worth the time and effort to replicate it at home!
