Custom switchbox for engines in spadnext setup
-
Hello all,
I recently acquired a custom switchbox that has 2 way and 3 way switches I would like to bind them to the engine start switches, the power switches, auto ignition switches, external power switch, generator switches, fuel pump switches, and bus tie switches.
I'm new to spadnext. I see the variables in the manual, but how do I assign these variables to the switches in spadnext? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm replying to this topic in the hopes that someone with more SPAD experience will see it and lend you a hand. Unfortunately, I am no expert, but I know we have several around here!

You should join the Spad.NEXT discord server. There is also very detailed manual and instruction for SPAD that can help. Custom devices require a little bit more attention and work, so I would first get familiar with SPAD using an easier hardware to get the ropes on how to program commands and LVARs in SPAD.

What part of setting it up are you having trouble with? Do you understand how to use profiles, and how to assign events to buttons?
Everything SPAD is mostly documented with Youtube videos. Which is nice if you can find a video that matches what you are trying to do, but it can also mean spending hours wading through content on topics that is not exactly what you are looking for, and wasting time on videos that are no longer relevant because of later changes to SPAD.
