Anti Ice Test
-
Hi, this one is not too serious so whenever you have time could you please check the de-ice system test. In the checklist below:
-
at step "c", When doing the manual switch tests, the messages illuminate but they don't extinguish as the boots inflate. (i have to check, I cant remember what happens, either the messages illuminate and dont extinguish as the boots inflate while holding the switch, or they dont illuminate at all)
-
at step "d" when the standby controller test is complete, the MAIN DEICE FAIL message remains illuminated
-
at step "j" further down this same checklist, at the "main boot system" test, the STBY DEICE FAIL message remains illuminated when the main controller test cycle is completed.

I will have to check number one, but I think I might know why. I believe numbers two and three are as expected, though. There is a three second delay from when the condition ceases to be met, and when the message disappears to prevent flickering. The FAIL messages will only extinguish when the whole cycle is complete, and each zone takes six seconds to cycle. That would be about nine seconds from the last zone inflating to the FAIL message extinguishing.

Yeah when holding down the test buttons, all the messages extinguish in sequence, but even after the whole sequence is completed as indicated by the bleed pressure returning to 23psi, the MAIN and STBY messages remain illuminated

Oh, if you never let go of the button? I see what you're saying. Fixed.

My first flight with the new patch. It looks like the fwd/main wing manual tests at step c above are no longer producing the list of FAIL messages anymore. Can anyone else confirm?

@Sunake While I can't swear to have immediate recall of how the system used to work, versus how it works now, I will say that I spent a substantial amount of time correcting the behavior of the system by walking through the procedures you quoted. I don't promise that it's 100% accurate at any time, but I can at least tell you that there were substantial changes after your initial post. Sorry I don't have more details while I'm away from my desk.

Oh okay. Maybe it's a case where my references are too old and the starships you modeled this after behave differently?
But yeah the other stuff I mention was fixed so thank you for that and sorry, it's just the manual boot tests are not displaying and extinguishing the various messages.
