You need to manually close the generator bus ties in order to run the avionics on the battery.

Yes, that. But also note that running the whole avionics suite on battery will be very short 🙂

With an addon like this, you are very, very much into "you need to read the manual" territory.

This was brought up already. Here's the discussion. Not sure if the dev managed to ask an owner or re-checked rhe schematics because I believe he went to fsexpo. We just have to wait to hear back from him.

Thank you all for your reactions. I completely missed the earlier discussion.I’ll wait for the dev’s further reaction. I love the depth of this simulation!

Is it normal you need external power or running engines to use the avionics? When I switch on the battery the RTU lights up, but I can’t use the com radio ( I fly with say intententions). When switching on the pilot and copilots avionics nothing happens. The screens stay black. Battery power is adequate. So ATIS, clearance and startup clearance are only possible with external power running. Do I do something wrong? MSFS 2020 , starship vs 1.1

@Downwind In the real aircraft, you'd use the GND COMM function p/b on the center pedastal with the battery selected off.

This would power your #1 COM, RTU, and Audio Amp/Control off the hot battery bus.

It isn't correctly implemented at the moment.

Offcourse there must be a way of using at least one com without starting the engines or using external power

I found that the COM1 radio is working for me on battery with EICAS and Pilot Avionics turned on. The screens stay black but I was able to use the COM on vatsim like that.

@sushi.at you are right. Maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to work. This way you can use com1 without draining the battery too much

@Downwind I'm not sure, saw talk about a ground radio button and how it's supposed to work. But this does nicely for now.
