I don't think those knobs are backlit in the real aircraft.
@x4569 found a night cockpit video here, the resolution is not that good, bit it's clearly visible that the CDU knobs are really dark.
@Randolf good catch, really seems like that, however, unclear why done like that. Maybe because the screens above the knobs may spend enough light? Interesting. Thanks!
