    Hello!
    As a preparation for the Starship I watch YT videos. On this one from FlyConti he was unable to engage IAS or any other vertical modes. (At timestamp 1:20:30)

    At least I could not see anything he did wrong. Manual tells nothing special to do about this.

    Thank you!

      I just watched that one last night. Pretty infuriating as a developer, as you might imagine, but I never hold it against the people flying.

      He figured out his error eventually, and it actually is something within the manual's FAQ:

      "Why is the autopilot behaving strangely with hardware inputs?"

      "In order to implement altitude & VS preselect and more advanced features in the easiest way for cockpit builders to access, external hardware must use the HTML events described in the “Instrument Events” section of this manual and NOT the native autopilot events."

      At some point in the video, he says, "I think I stuffed it up by using some bind to engage the autopilot instead of pushing the button."

      The blinking light above the altitude hold button does not mean anything in Starship, rather it means that his hardware is spamming the altitude hold toggle command over and over. Of course, I can't tell you with certainty that this is what happened, but I have a strong suspicion based on what I've seen with my other aircraft over the years.

        @Black-Square
        Ah okay, I thought he missed something special in terms of procedures.
        Looking forward to get this awesome bird into my own hands!

        Thank you very much and - as we are nearly there - I wish you a nice and flawless release tomorrow!
