Piston Duke Annunciator LVAR

Hello,
I'm building a Mobiflight profile for my external controllers and with use of the manual and information from within the PistonDuke_INT.xml file I, more-less, managed to assign most of what I wanted to physical buttons, switches and such.
However, I seem to be hitting a wall when I tried to configure a physical button for the Annunciator Light Test.
The manual states that I should use L:var_AnnunciatorTestButton to do so and when I set it, I can hear a "click" and the annunciator lights flash briefly but they don't stay on while the button is held.
When I monitor the state of the variable I can see that when I press the button, it is set to 1, however it gets immediately reset to 0. Which basically corresponds to the above mentioned observation.
The same applies to the Carbon Monoxide Detector Test as well (L:var_CoTest). On press the CO detector LEDs turn on for a brief moment and turn off again as the LVAR gets reset back to 0.
It is nothing critical, I'm just curious if there is any trick to make this work?
