Messed up fonts if selecting commander 114
-
@Derek thanks for that. Need to resolve as the aircraft is unflyable with this issue.
Thanks for getting back to me.
-
The problem seems to be limited to certain users - not all of them - so may be more difficult to find the common denominator.
-
@Jasemelbo , I contacted justflight customer service. After so many attempt including reinstalling MSFS, cleanup AMD driver, even trying on another PC, the problem persisted so I requested a refund.

@jiangnan22406 Sorry to hear that. I have several things you could have tested, if you were interested in finding a solution.
@Jasemelbo I can't hardly imagine what's going on here, but that doesn't mean we can't look for a solution! I would start by temporarily moving all the font files from the Commander community folder to somewhere else. I think this means the avionics will default to some other font, which should give us an idea of where to look next.
That would be all three folders in

Thank you

I had this issue, updated to the latest nvidia drivers (I was a month behind) and it went away.

@Jasemelbo Excellent! Thanks for getting back to me. Okay, that's good information... Since there are only three folders, do you think you could try adding them back to see if we can isolate the font that's causing the problem?
To be honest, I'm not sure what we will do if we can figure out which font is to blame, because it's working fine for the vast majority of users, and I have no idea how a font could mess up the entire simulator, but we will work one step at a time

@Jasemelbo
Yup. That's the one I suspected. Do you still happen to have MSFS 2020 installed, by any chance? I would be very interested to know if it works in 2020. There is something very deep in 2024's code that doesn't like something about the font rendered on the keychain from the magneto switch. If you look closely, the color is washed out, while it's bright blue in 2020. I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out. -

-
LCD FONTS with DOT MATRIX FONTS -> all good. Yep - it's the folder you thought. But hey! It works now, so that's awesome! I am happy to leave that other font out. But at least you know it may create some issues for some people.
@Jasemelbo Excellent. Well, I'm glad it's working for you with no loss of form or functionality. If you were willing, at your leisure, could you try a couple more things to help me pinpoint the issue?
-
It looks like I'm only using one of the fonts in that "handwritten" folder, which is brown_bag_lunch.ttf. Could you try deleting one or the other, and tell me what happens?
-
I would be interest to know if the mere presence of the font is the issue, of it's only when it's loaded. If you could find...
...[Your Community Folder]\bksq-aircraft-commander114\html_ui\Pages\VLivery\Liveries\Registration\bksq_key_registration.css...and replace the following line:
src: url("/Pages/VCockpit/Instruments/Shared/Fonts/Handwritten/brown_bag_lunch.ttf") format("truetype");with this line...
src: url("/Pages/VCockpit/Instruments/Shared/Fonts/DotMatrixFonts/5by7Mono.ttf") format("truetype");That would tell us something interesting.
I think that's all the testing that can be done, but that should give me enough to go on.
Thank you again so much, and let me know if you ever need anything else from me!

@Black-Square I can do that for sure. Just away from sim now but will do it ASAP for you.

@Jasemelbo No big rush! I'm glad that we know the culprit now. I really appreciate your willingness to help out
