    Hi everyone,

I’m trying to understand how the state saving feature is supposed to work on the Black Square Caravan Professional.

According to the manual, the aircraft supports state saving. However, in my case, every time I start a new flight, the aircraft loads in its default state. Switches, radios, avionics, lighting, and other cockpit settings are all reset, instead of restoring the configuration from the previous flight.

Am I misunderstanding how the state saving system is intended to work?

    Thanks!

This has come up more recently, as it seems that state saving has never been the same since SU4, and it was never particularly reliable to begin with. There are some workarounds that you can read about, and possible causes. Particularly, restarting the flight before quitting to desktop, and disabling anti-virus seems to be the most commonly cited solutions.

I've become increasing frustrated with this myself, which is why I have recently invested my time in creating a whole new full state saving feature, which will hopefully provide better consistency, and save nearly every variable in the aircraft. You can read about it here, if you like.

Thanks for the explanation, that clears things up. The new state saving system sounds very promising, would be a huge improvement.

Thanks again for the clarification and for putting the effort into improving this feature on this awesome airplane.
