Starship on a Pimax Crystal Super - WOW - (and lod questions)
-
I just upgraded from a Quest 3 VR headset to a Pimax Crystal Super ultrawide yesterday. Struggled for the first 10 hours but then I got it tuned really well. Just finished flying the Starship and WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. The graphics of the starship rendered in high res in VR is stunning. I flew into a sunset and I flew for 2 1/2 hours and never took the headset off or changed the sim speed. It was like I was in the real aircraft. I didn't think the Starship could get better after 400 hours but I was WRONG!
It was interesting to see the difference in where there were LOD issues with the pimax versus the quest 3 - the quest the carbon monoxide detector doesn't work unless you lean in - on the pimax that works fine. On the other hand there's a bunch of text on the buttons on the msp's and the cdu's that doesn't appear unless leaning in. Nick - is there anything I can do to help provide info to help tune that?

Glad to hear you've found yet another level of Starship enjoyment! I had the pleasure of trying Starship in VR for the first time just a couple months ago on a friend's setup, and I too, was quite amazed. It put me right back into the airplane I visited for research.
Sorry you're dealing with this most infuriating MSFS 2024 "feature". As I think you know, I have to anticipate and hand adjust each and every object that I think might be too small on some displays to prevent this. I've been taking good care to do so in my recent aircraft, but I will just have to spend some time with the Starship cockpit model before the next update to fix this. Sorry for the wait in the meantime.
