    How can I start cold and dark on water? When I load in a flight on the water, engines are running. I am thinking maybe modify some files? But not sure.

      If you select a custom scenery with water parking spaces, then that should work for starting cold and dark. Otherwise, you're correct. You could copy the contents of apron.FLT into runwaywater.FLT, and that should do the trick, in theory.

        I have not flown in a bit, but I believe from other user reports on here that SU5 fixed water "cold and dark" starts from random spots actually starting with the engine running, which was ingesting water and causing damage.

        As for OP, when you select your random spot on the water, a new drop down box appears; make sure you select On Ground - Cold and Dark.

          I believe I saw this was fixed in the SU5 changelog.

            @jmarkows Yeah. I haven't tried the caravan in SU5 yet, only SU4. When I tried spawning on water and using the "cold and dark" dropdown, it loaded in with the engine running and when I hit the ready to fly button the engine turned off. The damage had already been done, the saltwater wrecked the engine. @Black-Square I'll try copying apron.flt to the others, because I only really ever start flights cold and dark.

              @slipperfruit
              I can confirm as mentioned in this topic:
              https://community.justflight.com/topic/10384/loading-the-caravan-on-the-water-damages-the-engine/13

              I have done several C&D starts on water now without having any issues. As jarkows mentiond just make sure you select the option "cold and dark". Otherwise you might end up with a running engine.
