Caravan Amphibian Started Flight Overloaded and Under Water

I'm not sure exactly how this happened, but I loaded the Caravan Amphibian and when I hit the "Ready to fly" button, I watched in horror (and amusement) as my plane quickly sank. I had loaded in cold & dark on a random spot on the water, planning to start and then taxi to the runway (63A, Petersburg, Alaska). I ended the flight, and spawned at the runway this time, thinking something strange had happened with my choice of spawning spot. Same result.
After a couple sim restarts, I got it to load still afloat, but just barely. I was able to access the tablet, and found that every seat had a load of 560lbs except the pilot and copilot seats, which remembered my previous weights. In addition, the aft baggage compartment was loaded with over 5000lbs. The aircraft's gross weight was over 14,000lbs.
I fixed the weights via the tablet, loaded back in, and all was fine.
Posting this here for everyone to have a little chuckle, but also in case anyone else encounters this issue and maybe figures it out.
