Fs2020 low speed AP handling
-
Evening all. Does anybody else feel that low speed handling in autopilot, specifically in the approach phase is poor? I have found that at less than 90kias, the autopilot can fall out of bed and induce a certain tightening of the sphincter. All very well on a manual approach, where you have the Blacksquare smile across your face, but in low visibility, the AP should be your friend and to be honest, seems the least stable of pretty much all of my GA fleet. In manual flight, the Caravan is brilliant, but for me, I do find it slightly unstable with AP even with full flap and a fistful of torque.
Yes, I have deleted and reinstalled and this only applies to the pax minus pod aircraft. Needless to say, I still love it to bits and the Cyganski bankruptcy machine goes from strength to strength. Nicks aircraft are all that I could want in any hangar and will no doubt impoverished me into old age, but I am happy!

I should have added that I use the TDS GTN750XI and to confirm that the stability problem that I see is in the lateral axis. The AP still shows as connected, but the aircraft really wallows around in this mode, but in manual flight is positively stable around all three axes and is happy at much lower short field speeds.

More testing last night at various speeds and the ILS seems to start failing at around 3 miles or so, even when trying a fast approach and a chop of power for the remaining approach.
The fact that nobody else seems to be seeing this may suggest that it may be something purely at my end. I do use Axis and Ohs but only the plugin to drive the radio panels and Streamdecks. Nothing is bound as such control wise.
