How to change headset volume

The docs say scroll the mouse while on the headphone jack clickspot. Whenever I do that it just zooms the cockpit view in and out. How exactly is this accomplished?

this feature isn't available on dukes I don't believe. the scroll function only works if you use LOCK mouse control settings. Legacy controls have click spots which I prefer since it doesn't highlight everything blue...

I think it has been moved to the Dukes, but as @SadBucket said, if you're using Lock mode you need to mouse above and below the headphone jack interaction and you should get a (counter)clockwise circle cursor, which will increase/decrease the effect.
