King Air: HSI and RMI discrepancy
-
Hi,
Escalating here an open ticket that it's nearing closing a week now in "being processed" status.
The RMI VOR2 hollow green needle and the HSI-85 red pointers should point towards the same direction, the bearing to VOR2, as per manual (pp.28-29). Nevertheless, in my case they don't. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

Apparently there is an error in the manual, where it says "Also on the HSI compass, two red pointers
are available to indicate the bearing to the NAV2 station." (p.28). After tests I realized that HSI's "two red pointers" indicate the bearing to NAV1 (they align perfectly to the direction of RMI's YELLOW needle). -
Total silence from the developer, both here and in the Tickets section, over a month now. I guess my problem is not worth of developer's attention?

I just tried it at Nuremberg on RWY 28 using VOR NUB 115.75. If the source is switched to NAV, it should work, right? At least in this Avionics configuration it works! When I switch to another configuration the red diamond seems not working...Nick we need your help??? -

@ToucHDowN514 I cannot tell you why, but this is the first time I've seen this post.
The red pointer on the HSI-85 is called the "Bearing Pointer". It functions to provide situational awareness by pointing directly to the station that you might be tracking an arbitrary radial/bearing to/from. As such, you are correct, that it will point to the NAV1 station when the HSI source is NAV1. It will point to the next waypoint (or OBS waypoint) when the HSI source is GPS, and it will point to the virtual RNAV waypoint when the HSI source is RNAV. I believe everything is working correctly in the code, and I've already fixed the manual. Does that answer your questions?
