Fuel imbalance
-
I do have a stupid question. I did experience a fuel imbalance during flight. The engine did only pull fuel from one tank.
As a result I did turn of this tank to get both back in balance according the Checklist.
After restoring Balance I did switch both on again. After a few min the engine did only pull fuel out of one tank again.Do I have to manually mange fuel by switching one tank off at a time or is there something else wrong?
I do not have any failure in the EFB.
Given the Checklist for imbalance suggest to turn both back on after manually restore balance I do assume this is not normal.Any advice would be welcome

Posting what I replied with in the MSFS forums for other users who experience the same thing:
Yep, this is 100% accurate behavior of the Caravan. You will need to actively manage the balance by switching off the fuel tanks, which sounds like what you’re doing. Welcome to the Caravan! It never seems to follow what seems logical, too… I’ve flown extended orbits and had the up-wing end up with more fuel in it than the lower wing. Just be sure to keep within the 200 lbs difference limitation.

Check your rudder trim. I was having tank balance issues too - then I noticed I was flying out of trim. Once I started trimming my rudder out to center the ball my fuel tank imbalance issues went away.

Came here looking for the solution to the fuel imbalance. These Black Square aircraft continue to blow my mind! I love this attention to detail!
