Pilot and Copilot avatars
-
Hello,
Just loaded the new Caravan and instantly noticed something that surprised me. I hope it can be addressed.
Why am I seeing the old MSFS 2020 avatar(s) in MSFS 2024, and not the MSFS 2024 pilot avatar, please? And why, when I exit the aircraft with SHIFT+C (walkaround), the pilot (avatar) is still sitting inside? The avatar remains inside unless I change its seat/weight in the tablet to empty. The copilot avatar, when enabled, is also an old MSFS 2020-era avatar, not the new MSFS 2024 model. I can, fortunately, disable the copilot (internally), but the pilot avatar remains from the previous flight simulator.
As for the walkaround mode, when the pilot exits the aircraft, such as for the walkaround, using SHIFT+C, the avatar is supposed to disappear from the cockpit, but it does not. It was not the case with some of the most recent Black Square aircraft. It would appear the Caravan (I installed the correct MSFS 2024 version) does not take advantage of the MSFS 2024 features. Can someone please advise? If this is how the aircraft was made, then I have to say I am disappointed.

Hi
I also notes the same. I am Also surprised that I have Chase Plane which disables the aviators in external view in MSFS 2024 but in the Caravan pro I have the old 2020 aviators. Also i noted I did not have to do the walk around?
At first i thought I had a senior moment and installed the 2020 version into 2024 but i checked and the installers are for 2024
I wonder if an error has happens i.e. the developers named the installers the wrong way around.
But what do I Know?
Best wishes.

Exactly. It's like a step backwards. Previous BS aircraft, while had the copilot disabled (could be enabled by pasting a few lines of code), used the native MSFS 2024 avatars. I am hoping exactly what you described, that it's just an installer naming issue and the correct installer will be uploaded soon. Fingers crossed.

Oh no.. I hope they have a hot fix out soon.

It is actually still a lets call it legacy native package and not a full native package. I had hopes that the Caravan would be the first real native package but as all JF and BS products its still the old structure. That will make in addition repainting a pain again with spamming versions and not liveries I assume. But not checked yet. And it opens doors for this compatibility remains like avatars and such.
(on the other hand it makes it easier for the Devs to keep work for 2020 and 2024 in parallel to a maintainable overhead... one death we have to die but I don't mean that as a negative point at all

But the previous products utilized the native avatars. Although the copilot avatar was disabled, when you activated it using a few lines of code (from these forums), you had the native MSFS 2024 avatars. But now, even the pilot itself is the old one. I genuinely hope it's just the installers being mixed up.

@Y82578
"Install_Caravan_Pro_AmphibCargo_MSFS2024_v0.1.0a.exe" is the file you want.
The bundle gets you both installers, rather than one containing both, so you should see download links for both. -

Just to clarify, all of my aircraft released for MSFS 2024 are "real native package[s]". As I have explained several times in the past, the modular aircraft file structure is entirely optional, and does not limit the available features or compatibility of the aircraft in any way. Asobo says this in almost those exact words within their documentation. As far as my aircraft are concerned, the modular file structure is a further abstraction from which they do not particularly benefit. As I understand it, large airliners benefit the most, and also other workflows for modeling aircraft, which I do not personally use.
