I have been studying the checklist in the manual this weekend and comparing it with some notes I have, and I have some questions. Let’s see if you can help me with them:

1)In the Before Start section, I find it interesting that there is no mention of checking the overhead air fans. From what I read in the manual, their functionality is simulated, correct? In this same section, there’s no mention of the temperature control knob, which should be in the closed position, right?

2)In the Starting Engine section, it indicates that once the engine is running, the fuel boost pump should be set to the OFF position. Shouldn't it be left in the NORM position?

3)In this same section, at the end, I noticed that in some manuals it mentions that on heavy rain situations, the Ignition switch should be set to ON. Can this also be applied in this addon? Is it implemented?

4)Finally, in the Shutdown section, it indicates to set the fuel pump switch to OFF before proceeding with the fuel cutoff. Shouldn't this be done afterward?

I hope these questions aren't too nitpicky. As I mentioned earlier, this is a very special product for me, and I like to simulate it as closely as possible to real operations. Something that, on the other hand, is something this addon is desperately calling for 😉

In the meantime, I will continue studying the emergency procedures.

    Regards

@Chotter it appears from some googling you’re right on the fuel pump off vs norm. Norm is basically a standby mode where the aux pump turns on if there’s a loss of pressure from the engine driven pump and appears that it should be set to normal during normal flight.

@Chotter I've fixed the fuel pump after engine start, but I don't see any mention of the temperature control knob or the overhead vent knobs. I only see the Bleed Air Heat switch and the Cabin Mixing Air pull handle mentioned. I also checked the shutdown procedure, and the POH that I have calls for the fuel pump to be turned off before the condition lever. I imagine this might be designed to reveal a mechanical pump failure before securing the aircraft, much like magneto tests during shutdown in reciprocating engine aircraft. However, all of this is predicated on the singular POH that I have used to develop my aircraft. There might be other instructions in other versions of the POH, or you might know better as an experienced operator. Always please feel free to share with me, and I will do my best to research the questions and make the expected changes. I'm delighted to hear that this aircraft is "very special" for you, because they are all very special for me, and it makes my day to know that there are others out there who will enjoy my aircraft the way they were meant to be 🙂

I've been looking into various POHs available online regarding the fuel pump. In the manuals for pre G1000 versions with the PT6A-114A engine, the shutdown procedure matches what's in our manual (I'll use "our" to refer to the manual for this addon 🙂 ):

          Parking Brake SET.
          Avionics Switches OFF.
Standby Power Switch (if installed) OFF.
          Fuel Boost Switch OFF.
Bleed Air Heat, Ventilation Fans and Air Conditioner (if installed) OFF.
          Inverter Switch (if installed) OFF.
          Power Lever IDLE.
ITT STABILIZED at minimum temperature for one minute.
          Propeller Control Lever FEATHER.
          Fuel Condition Lever CUTOFF

My confusion arises because, starting with the G1000 version, even though it has the same engine, the shutdown process changes. I'm not sure if this is due to safety recommendations or some adjustments made for the G1000 installation:

          POWER Lever IDLE
ITT STABILIZED (at minimum temperature for one minute)
          PROP RPM Lever FEATHER
          FUEL CONDITION Lever CUTOFF
          LIGHTS OFF
          FUEL BOOST Switch OFF
AVIONICS No 1 and No 2 Switches OFF

So, for "our" Caravan, it makes sense to stick with what our manual says. I'll keep researching to find out the reason for this change.

Regarding my question about the Ignition switch being in the ON position, all the different POHs I've seen specify that:

The IGNITION Switch should be turned ON to provide continuous ignition under the following conditions:
          1. Emergency engine starts without starter assist (refer to Section 3,AIRSTART).
          2. Operation on wet or contaminated runways.
          3. Flight in heavy precipitation.
          4. Flight in moderate or greater turbulence.
          5. During inadvertent icing encounters prior to the INERTIAL SEPARATOR being selected to BYPASS.
          6. When near fuel exhaustion as indicated by Red RSVR FUEL LOW CAS MSG.

So, don’t forget to include this note in your checklists and flows to enhance realism and immersion!

I still have uncertainty about the fan vents. My doubt comes from a fantastic video I recently watched about how to do a correct walkaround. I might be misremembering, so I'll review it.

Once again, I want to express my gratitude for the time you take to answer my questions and requests. I can imagine you have plenty of work preparing for the release and all your upcoming planes, so I feel a bit awkward bombarding you with these details. I'm passionate about understanding the Caravan, and I know my enthusiasm can sometimes be a bit much 😉

          Regards
