CDU occasionally fails to initialize

Occasionally I run into an issue where I can't complete the initialization of the CDU in the Starship. I can select "INITIALIZE SYSTEM" but then it gets stuck on the "VERIFY" screen. Selecting either "UPDATE POSITION" or "ALL DATA OK" does nothing, and no other buttons on the CDU work except the top row (HSI, RDR, ARC MAP). When this happens, it happens to both the pilot and copilot CDU, and the only way I can get off that screen is by rebooting the CDU with the breakers, which brings me back to the start. But this doesn't fix the problem.
That being said, those things that are linked to the CDU (such as the FMS and radar) are unaffected and continue to function as normal, but they cannot be changed through the CDU for the remainder of the flight (because the screens that one would need are inaccessible).
This seems to happen in MSFS 2024 specifically; I have not had this issue in 2020. It might also have something to do with the way ATC tends to reset the programmed flight plan, as I usually run into this problem midflight after that happens.
