Duke COM 1&2 receiver (RX) issue on VATSIM
-
Last I checked this worked for me with monitor all checked on in the tablet and using the integrated audio control panel controls. The knob is a mic select and the switches below when flicked up should turn on the audio. I will gladly check when I am back home tomorrow as I just went back to flying the duke again recently. You can also try with the pms750 removed from you community folder in the meantime to see if that may be the cause.

I use the G530/G430 combo with COMM 1 and 2 selected, respectively without issue.
-
Continuing the thread. I was originally visiting the board to post a thread my own, but this seems fitting.
The mic selector (on Turbine, at least) doesn't always match the pit setting. This has occurred upon loading the aircraft several times. By default, it seems to be on the TEL position, but vPilot shows COM2 TX.
Likewise, when going to avatar mode and returning, there is often a mismatch like this:

Consequently, you have to check the vpilot window before every transmission, which adds surprisingly lot into mental load.
Therefore
- Would make sense to have COM1 as default?
- Synchronization mechanism could need a revisit?

@SadBucket I tried all the switches, and unfortunately, it made no difference for me. But I’ll try again tomorrow with the PMS750 removed to see if that’s the problem.

I am pretty sure that everything was set up correctly, or did I overlook anything? However, still no audio... I tried with the PMS750 in the community folder and without. Additionally, I tried all other configurations there are, and unfortunately, it made no difference. Any other ideas I could try?

@PflaumenTV Hello again, it appears I read to quick and misunderstood the issue. It seems very strange indeed...
- Check the Windows Volume Mixer
- While the Grand Duke and vPilot are running:
- Press Win + R, type sndvol.exe, and press Enter.
- Find vPilot in the Volume Mixer and verify it isn't muted or set to a very low volume. also see if the output animation on the meter is detecting any output.
- Check for third-party COM volume synchronization utilities (unlikely, but worth mentioning...)
- I know ClearComms and FS2020 COM Volume to vPilot Volume on github both allow the in sim controls to change Rx volume on Vpilot...
- I would also potentially consider a SayIntentions and BeyondATC conflict, since they can support aircraft radio volume integration too...
I'm particularly interested in whether Windows shows any audio activity for vPilot in sndvol.exe during an incoming transmission....

I think I found the issue: for some strange reason, my default volume for vPilot in the Windows Volume Mixer was set to 0%. What’s weird about it, though, is that, as mentioned before, it worked perfectly fine in the Fenix, so I never thought to check the vPilot volume separately.
Turning the volume up manually fixed the issue. I haven’t had much time to test it yet, so I haven’t verified whether setting the volume once saves it permanently or if I’ll have to adjust it manually every time. But for now, it works!
Thanks @SadBucket for your help, absolute legend!

@PflaumenTV Should save permanently as far as I know, but at least now you know the fix. Btw I highly recommend getting a program called EarTrumpet on the windows store (it's free) and way easier to manage application volumes with it. I use a key-board shortcut to open it (you can set that from in the program).
