Does engine performance reflect engine damage level?
-
For some reason the update to SU6 made it so when I loaded the Starship my engines were at 10 and 26%, with chip detect showing on the 10% one. For science, I decided to fly with this and see how the engines perform. I cannot detect any difference at all between how the engines behave at 100% versus their current supposedly bad state. I thought I'd be able to tell something is going on with them, especially the one at 10% with chip detect. Is the damage level purely a thing that shows up on the EFB but doesn't actually affect anything?

@rinkerbuck Maximum torque becomes increasingly restricted below 40% engine health, and I have some new things coming in the next update, as well.

There's an update coming? Do tell...
I just recently flew a few more flights and noticed that the tail signs appear fixed.

Well if it was restricted it didn't seem to be affecting performance. I'll have to recheck

So I am doing another flight finally with my engines being left 10% with chip detect, and right 26%, and I can still hit 100% torque with no issues. So what's the deal?

@rinkerbuck That might be the case at sea level, but there is plenty of torque overhead at sea level. The fuel flow will become limiting at higher altitudes, and torque will fail to keep up. ITT increase will also be added with the next update.
