As I mentioned here, I matched our Caravan’s detent positions to my quadrant using the throttle 0–100% command in FS24.

But as soon as I move the lever into the beta position, it behaves like "little" reverse: the speed decreases, and I have to move the throttle back to IDLE so it increases speed, then back to BETA to prevent over‑speeding.. and this all the way during the taxi. Is this the normal way to operate in the beta range? I thought once in Beta you could leave it there until takeoff. Something's off, isn't it?

It could be related to the fixes in the upcoming patch about beta and RPM, but in my experience in the TBM and Starship is that beta can be very fiddly, but there usually exists some happy medium in the beta range where you can leave it and taxi at a comfortable speed.

I highly recommend using a linear axis. The PT6 features a flight idle and ground idle position. Flight idle is to be used for eng start and as minimum idle while airborne. Ground idle can be used in lieu of braking at slow speeds to save on brake wear. The further beta detent is the full reverse thrust you would use when landing. It is highly recommended you bind that as a button input to "Throttle 1 Decrease". On the HC Bravo you can use the detent at the bottom end of the axis as it acts as a button depress.

I also recommend leaving unrestricted beta range OFF and instant beta on touchdown ON in the tablet so you can leave the throttle at idle into the landing and simply press the reverse thrust button bind to activate reverse thrust after touchdown. You can also bind Throttle 1 Idle to activate on release so the throttle returns to the ground idle position on release of the button. I find this is the best way to use the Black Square aircraft.
