Ground Power Unit (External Power)
-
Hi everyone,
I'm currently using MSFS 2020, latest version, and tried activating the GPU option from the tablet, but it doesn't seem to be working as expected. I don't see the external power unit appear outside the aircraft, nor do I notice any changes on the panel indicating that GPU power is available.
I also didn't find any mention in the manual stating that this feature is exclusive to MSFS 2024 (if that happens to be the case).

I've attached a short snippet showing the behavior, in case it helps diagnose the issue: See here
I know i moved the switch BUS first, then pressed the External Power button on the tablet, but the order seems irrelevant, the GPU does not appear either way.
Is this expected or a bug?
Thanks !

External power is only available at predetermined parking spots at airports. This is how MSFS does external power for all aircraft, but I have a workaround I tested with Starship that seems to work well. I just wanted to get feedback from the community before I incorporated it in all my other aircraft.

@Black-Square is it really only with Starship? I thought it would have been being rolled out to the rest of the fleet by now.
Not having the workaround is less of an issue for most starting spots, but drastically limits your options for doing multi leg flights without going back to the menu.
